If the front and rear internal drive ratios are the same and coupled with the same front and rear tire diameters, then the overdrive value should be 1. Not 0.99.

The overdrive and underdrive is derived from the ratio of the front and rear tire rollout. How can the formula be saying that the stock pulleys result in the car being underdriven then?
I agree with you. I believe he has not used Pi correctly which has give him the wrong number. Pi has to be used in its purest form to get a completely accurate figure. Just saying Pi=3.14 is not 100% accurate as you know.

I prefer my own chart for calculating overdrive. I know it is 100% accurate as I get a value of 1 for the stock Yokomo gearing and the Serpent.

I am working on a new program that will give you idal camber settings and roll center of the car.

Default HI guys!

I was reading your chat.

What is FC steering?

I would like to use it to my 705, but it does need modification @ all. The kit is good enough compared to the old impulse and impulse pro.

Default FC Steering Blocks

"The bearing blocks are more offset than the standard type and combined with the change in Ackermann this new steering block set gives your more off throttle steering. The benefits don’t stop there, due to small diameter bearings and the aluminium pivot balls the steering parts are now much lighter, reducing not just the overall weight but the polar moment as well." Taking from the descrition on MYTSN.

Then show us the money You're always welcomed to give every bit of your knowledge here even though you don't own a 705 anymore... Just don't go around making small talk and passing secrets to the other camp Where did you pick up this habit from?

Anyway, welcome back

Hey guys...after a bit of time working out the bugs from the build and getting more farmiliar with how the parts integrated with each other, I finally got the time to break in the novamega (standard Sx12) and car. It took a bit of tweeking of the centax to engage nicely with out 1/2 throttle launches (not good for 1st tank breakin) But what a great car to drive. Fast and responsive even running really rich! Handling is great even in box stock form. I haven't been able to bring it to a track yet, but parking lot breakin it seemed to be able to be controlled well. Putting a body on it (after the 6 breakin tanks) and the car handled even better. It seems to be planted to the ground. I'm looking forward to racing. Thanks to all for the advice and answers to my questions. I like this car!

A lot of people I know like the way the car handles on the maiden run. The trick is to take your time and be patient to build the car correctly Good to know you like the car, Devin

I liked the 705 very much, I had put all the lightened parts on the car and it handled really good. I changed because I wanted to try something different, plus I got a really good deal on the MTX 3 that I am now racing. The guy that bought my 705 is now selling it on this board. I will be taking pictures of it tomorrow evening so he can post them.

The FC (fluent cornering) steering blocks can be used on any of the 705, Impulse Streetspec and Impulse PRO cars.

You just need these to get the Steeringblock FCset +alu balls 8.5mm (801222) which comes in a complete set or get the following separately;

801212 Steeringblock left FC
801213 Steeringblock right FC
801219 Pivotball 8.5mm short (comes in a pack of 4 pivot balls)
1344 Ball - bearing 10 x 15 x 4 HS Purple (you need 2 packs to get 4 bearings)

Alternatively, you can leave out the 801219 pivot balls and use the current steel ones. I've tried them and it works fine. Just need to thread them deeper into the arms to get the correct front trackwidth or you could cut them shorter to 21.8 mm which is the length of the new shortened aluminum pivot ball.

Also, with the ball bearings, you could just get from a bearing shop which would be cheaper I believe. You could also get the ones used in the knuckles of the MTX-3 if your LHS carries Mugen parts. They are the same size.

The Pivit balls are 2.5mm

The Aluminum pieces that hold them in are a 5 or 6 mm I think.
