Hi there,
Do you have any special recommendations for this engine?
How're your needles setup?

I just putted mine (tz 5p) around in circles for the first tank at the factory settings (REALLY rich), then leaned it out a tiny bit at a time and kept going faster and faster until I was on the 5th tank or so. I never "cycled" it, I just ran tank after tank.
I also heated it up to 180 or so with a heat gun before the first start...fired right up instantly as soon as fuel got to the carb.
Runs AWESOME, temps in the low 200s and I have probably 1/2 gallon through it. I'm not a pro racer or anything, this is my first nitro onroad car, second nitro motor (OS .18 TNX). OS kicks ass.
It's really fast...

oh so you guys ran it in!
well a mate of mine told me it didnt have to be run in so all i did was WOT at a very rich setting with the car off the ground for half a tank and then let the rest of the tank run at idle. after that i tuned the motor to race conditions.
hope my mate was right!
can anyone else confirm if the OS .12 TZ needs breaking in? or does it come factory broken in ?
thanks in advance guys

This motor needs to be broken-in. mine didnt come to life till the 12th tank. And just keeps getting better every time i use it.I would recomend atleast 8 tanks before you start to really tune for power and do the tunning slowley over the next 2-3 tanks for a total of 10-11 tanks before you really lean it for max power

BrainTeased, you can download the english version of the manual from the OS web page. They say that you must run 1/2 gallon of fuel until the engine is completely broken in.

WELL BUILT ENGINE
WELL GUYS I CAN CERTAINLY SAY THIS ENGINE IS VERY WELL BUILT!
MATERIALS IN THIS MOTOR ARE THE VERY BEST I GOOFED AND OVERHEATED MY MOTOR TO 379 DEG. FARENHEIT. BLEW THE PLUG . JUST LET IT COOL OFF NEW PLUG AND RAN ABOUT 8 MORE TANKS WITH NO PROBLEMS NO LOSS OF COMPRESSION.TRY THAT WITH SOME OTHER BRANDS AND YOU CAN KISS IT GOODBY
