+1 Can imagine.

when I went from 60K to 100K it felt like a big change, definitely more punch.

Try 500 000 or more.
On the carpet track that I run, ther is more than 10 V5 pilots and they all use 500 000 or 1 000 000 in the center.

That's interesting about the 300k in the center diff. I had my V5 out today for its first run. The car is solid. It feels like a heavy car yet is nimble as it needs to be. But I did notice it seemed to lack that ridiculous time bending acceleration and punch that is expected out of an Orion 6.5. I was comparing it to an LRP X20 6.5 powered 44.3 and I thought it felt soft by comparison.

I started out running 10/50/5. The slipper is set according to the manual which if anything, may need tightened a bit.

Not bad for a first run. I never wrecked the car, but did find a weird handling quirk at the end of the second battery. The only thing I found was a cracked front gearbox holder and the front Gbox shifted a little. Weird that it broke there. I'm putting in an order for the alloy part and the rear wing mount. I'll pick up the Durango alloy rear holder this weekend. First runs are always exciting. I think I've identified what I need to upgrade to make the car bullet proof.

You may find benefit to:

- Getting Mckune Pads
- Going up to at least 100K center diff.

Good vehicle once you have a setup you like on it.

There is not a aluminum rear diff holder for the v5 to my knowledge, just the front one. The rear one you might be talking about is for the v3/v4 cars. I did make one by hand with my dremel and worked great.

Couldn't tell a huge difference with the 125k but i do think it's got a bit more punch. Biggest thing was I removed the front swaybar to try and get more steering based on your suggestion and it made a huge difference. Much less understeer and more entry and mid corner steering.

Very happy with how it's driving now!

You know what? You're right! Lol. I just finished building a DESC410V2 and being that it's based on the DEX410, it was fresh in my mind. Perhaps it was just a freak thing. It's just cracked on one side of the loop. I wouldn't even have seen it if it hadn't been for the front gearbox moving a bit, creating a gap near the broken side of the loop. I've got two or three spares so if this is not a common issue, maybe I'll just use the spare. If it happens again I'll install the Exotek version.

In the pictures you can see the tiny gap, then in the other, if you look at the bottom of the ring, you'll see the crack. Strange.

If it was me, Ill get the upgraded one, (which I did on mine) because is not a 5minute quick swap.

I am running the slipper. I checked them during the fluid swap yesterday and they weren't glazed or anything like that. But you're right - maybe I should swap those out for some fresh pads.

The Mckune pads really helped. One quick way to see if its a pad issue if you have it, drop in the exotek slipper locker.

No, it sure isn't. I'm assuming that it cracked due to shock. We have one particular triple that is literally a full throttle run up, half the length of the track kind of jump. I had to install thicker shock fluid in all of my cars to deal with the landing.

Cain:I looked up those Mckune pads and noticed they are designed for carpet, astro and very high grip clay. I wonder if they would have too much grip for a dusty hard pack type track. Then again, the best 4wd I've ever driven on this track is the 44.3, which is straight gear diff, no slipper at all.
