If you are in US, why not call up TamiyaUSA.
They can either sell you spares direct or tell you which LHS is nearest you.

Have you bought spares from Tamiya usa before? I was told by my lhs that it was for hobby stores as a way to get around the big distributors...

No, I'm not in USA and TamiyaUSA don't send o/s.

Right now I'm trying to figure out where to find new spare bumpers.
Looking for the original EvoIII items, but they are not SP 50xxx
items in the Tamiya catalog.

Also looking for the EvoIII & Surikarn decal sets.

Anyone, any ideas?

You can ask R10 to special order a few bumpers. That's what they did for me anyway

I'd try e-mailing rainbowten. They seem to be able to get anything for Tamiya cars provided that it is still in production or in stock.

Good idea, I will email RainbowTen after I get all the #s listed.

They are located in Shizouka... sometimes I suspect those fellas
must have a backdoor key to the Tamiya warehouse...

Default tuning

hey guys

im running my surikarn ed and its fun to drive but vs the xrays it seems like it needs a kick in the pants to get it moving faster. i run on concrete and i need some chassis tuning points. like ive played with taking the front sway bar off and that worked and also putting the shocks out one. the tires are rite a new motor is coming so any tips on chassis tricks would be great

thanks
dan

You can try Burien RC Racing (Burien Toyota) 1 (800) 654-6456 Ask for Kevin.
Also You can always call Tamiya and get them (if they have them)

Close, but not quite. They're located right next to Tamiya's Shizouka track (if it wasn't for a fence, you can almost say it was an onsight hobby shop) and across the street from one of Tamiya's many big buildings.

If you are in the US Tamiya America has them in stock and you can order them direct from customer service.

I have been ordering most of my spare parts from R10. Every time I call Tamiya USA they are out of the parts I need. Even with the express shipping the costs from R10 have been usually less than if I were to order it from Tamiya USA. They are really cost efective for order multiple parts to have as spares. They do have the bumper I just received mine from them. It was 920 yen thats approx. $9.20 USD.

Their customer service is great and they ship real fast.

here is the bumper part number for R10
ETC. TAMIYA PARTS 0445987 TB EVO III Bumper
price per unit 920 yen quantity 1

My part-time employer/teammate Dad said he could probably take the one-way to work with him and make it into (or make a) spool on the lathe & CNC machine.

How differently does this car handle with a spool than a ball diff up front? I know its gonna push more but how much more? To the point where I'm gonna have to run a softer front spring? I've never run a spool before

Starting out with a Spool, running primarily stock & 19 turn on carpet w/Take-Off 22/27 tires....What would be a good start point (I'll have all the Tamiya Springs and Swaybars plus the full TC3 FT Spring set...also have a bunch of different weights of shock oil)
