Rick. Did you also notice Marc's car has a rear carbon gearbox? But not in front. I've seen other pics where he uses it in front also.

Maezumi's Evo III:
-Tamiya front and rear carbon gearbox.
-Double front and rear shocktowers.
-Tamiya special front shocktower with extra body mount.
-Six body mounts.
-Milled suspension arms.
-Hybrid wide bumper plate.
-Tamiya aluminium center brace.
-Ect.

Yup i noticed that Bob, i just wish us normal folk cud buy the graphite ones. Its a bit wierd why he runs one at the back but not at the front though.

Also in those pics there that guy is running no front center stiffener between the steering posts.

Default carbon fiber gear box

Are those gear boxes still prototypes, or can we get it soon. Also, I want a new one-way gear in carbon fiber! Damn!

Stumper,

I just got one from Tamiya. All you need to do is call the customer service line 1-800-tamiya- a .The part numbers you need to order are as follows;

53436 TA04 Ball Diff Unit
53363 F201 Diff Plate
50992 TB Evo III Diff. Joint
50987 TB Evo III Ball Diff. Ring Gear

The TA04 Ball Diff Unit has all the bearings and misc. parts to build the Diff. Obviously you will not need all the parts that come with it but it is much cheaper to buy that then all the individual parts.

I also tried a thicker swaybar (the silver one from the upper deck swaybar kit from the 414M cut to size so that it would fit on the evo)

* I have not tried the gray tamiya springs yet. I will try them at my local track.

Martin Crisp,

Which holes on the camber links did you use for Skarn edition? There are 3 options. Did you use the middle holes? What happens when you use the inner or outer holes, which one will increase traction

Thanks,
P2

Hi guys ... decided to stop racing

I have 2 Tamiya TB EVO3 Surikarn Limited almost new. Complete with ceramic bearings throughout and all possible lightweight stuff (centre propeller/axles/outdrives/etc). Loads of standard spare parts too.

Give me an offer if interested

Send me a private message or email me on [email protected] even if your offer is ridiculous. You never know ... I will sell them to the highest bidder

The carbon gear boxes were supposed to be released, but they've been produced as prototypes more than 8 months ago and still are not, so I guess they will never be released.
