if your gonna run nationals next season maybe we should meet up as iam hoping to run nationals with my evo3.
itll help with the setup of the cars.

I have an EVO 3 SL for some time now and I am finding that the rear is a bit too much loose in the corners, due to the front one way effect I suppose.

Any ideas how to improve rear traction in corners? Is there any good setups for racing outdoors on asphalt?

try a high amount of rear toe in [a,b,c and d]
move the upper arm to the inner most hole on the inner mount.
add spacers under iner upperlink mount.
take rear anti-roll bars off
raise ride heght at back
soften suspensions [softer spring, oil]
put stiffer springs,anti roll bar or oil in the front.

If I raise the ride height in the back, why will it help to have more rear traction while cornering?

By increasing rear tow in, will it effect straight line speed to?

if you raise the back the car will roll more thus increasing grip.
adding rear toe will effct straight line speed but its whatever you want.
a fast car and shitty handling or a car thats a tiny bit slower down the straight but good round corners.
i know what id go for!

So ... let me understand ...

if i raise the back, the car will roll more ... in an off power situation (entering a corner) the front will go down and the rear will go up ... if i increase the rear height ... will i not loose more traction?

also ... if i want to make the front stiffer ... to help maybe have more traction in the back ... how shall i position the front shocks? It is better standing up or layed down?

Don't raise he ride height in the rear. It will make it worse. If your spinning out(or allmost). Camber links will not fix it. It may make is better but not fix it. Camber links are a fine tunning adjustment. First I would try a softer tire combination(tire and or insert, depending if your running foam or rubber) in the rear. If you need more then go to the shocks, toe, and then camber link location(not the tire camber) adjusments.

its a great track, ther TORC was at bedworth yesterday really good . i Wasnt raceing could afford the time at the minute, im prepareing to win my local winter series and hopefully do most rounds of the TORC and BTCC next year.

I've never had a loose car in an off power situation... You might want to go with some stiffer oils in both shocks so that the weight doesnt transfer to the front so fast.

do not raise the rear ride height. If you are loose in the rear your ride height should be even front and rear. If you are loose in the rear OFF power, then the first change you make is to decrease the rear droop. Normally you would be running a little more rear droop than front so make them even.

Since we have no idea what surface, tires, or setup you are running on I can't help you from there. I will tell you this- assuming you are running on asphalt, you should be running the same wheel/insert/tire combination front and rear. Don't go softer in the rear.

Loose in the corners with a one-way suggests driving style more than anything.

Are you letting off the throttle totally when you enter the corner? If so, ease off but try keeping 'on-power' just a little bit.

Actually if the car is tweaked right, you can hit the brakes with a 1 way. I run Brushless, and they glide forever, so to get the fastest laptimes, you do have to use the brakes, and I very seldom have the back end get loose in the least bit.
