They aren't the actual motors that I will be using at the Nats but they were test mules. Unforunately, they're both hurting. First thing to do next week is test motors and see which one will let me get around the track in one piece hehe.

Have you tried running this year's motor in your carbon and aluminum wonder? I've gotten severe radio problems with my two examples. I gave one of the motors to another racer for him to try out and he's got the same problems. Put in some other non-Tamiya motors and no problemo...weird I mean, it's a motor...it's not rocket science hehe.
press is spinning already i havent tried the Tam23 yet. both of the 23s you had were off?

Yea, I know that they are test mules, but hopefully the motors they give you for TCS wont suck ass too... Whenever I watch you at SoCal, you dont seem to be glitching at all, is Tamiya's track much bigger?

Yeah it's weird man. No glitching at slocal, take it to Tamiya and it stutters like a <insert colorful euphamism here> What a trip. Ah well...I'll take that motor to socal tomorrow and watch, no glitching hehe.

Just load up a GT7 sized capacitor onto it, you shouldn't glitch too much

I donīt know of the GT7 capacitor but you can buy some really good capacitors at http://www.digikey.com/
One of the best capacitors I know of are the Panasonic FC. Very low ESR (inner resistance). Some of the speedcontrol manufacturers are using them but I think at a much higher price. Also you can buy some bigger versions @ Digikey.

Iīm using this one. Panasonic FC series 16 volt, 8200 uF.
Not very small but works very good. Digikey Part # is P10266-ND.

Downside at Digikey is a $5.00 handling charge applies to all orders less than $25.00. But maybe you could order some caps for your teammates also.

hereīs the link for the Panasonic capacitors
http://dkc3.digikey.com/pdf/T033/0687-0715.pdf
then scroll down to page 8. You should use at least 10 volt types but the 16 volt types are more save.
You can see here the dimensions also from the caps.

V12- Thanks for the link to the Caps, great stuff!

Everyone:

A while back linger measured the Tamiya and Associated springs at his work place using a materials test system. Here are the values he came up with:

Associated White 40.4 lbs/in
Associated Yellow 33.8 lbs/in
Associated Purple 31.2 lbs/in
Associated Copper 24.6 lbs/in
Associated Red 23.2 lbs/in
Associated Gold 18.8 lbs/in
Tamiya White 16.5 lbs/in
Associated and Tamiya Blue 16.3 lbs/in
Associated Silver 14.5 lbs/in
Tamiya Yellow 13.0 lbs/in
Tamiya Red 11.8 lbs/in
Associated Green 11.5 lbs/in

My question is, has any one been able to measure the newer Tamiya springs yet? Specifically:

Tamiya Super Hard (53635)
Tamiya Ultra Hard (53636)

I'd love to know their values so I can insert them into the above chart.

Thanks!

Here is Martin Crisp's setup. He's a Tamiya sponsored driver, and with this setup he's car is hooked.
