so these new batteries that are coming in do have lo internal resistance and can handle the current draw from our motors
8000mah Capacity
7.4 Volts
44mm X 132mm X 26mm
Rated at 96 Amp Constant Discharge(12C)
Rated at 128 Amp Burst for 10 seconds(16C)
335 grams
Your motors will not burn these batteries up... Now, there is a pack very similiar tho this that puts out
8000mah Capacity
11.1 Volts
44mm X 132mm X 39mm
Rated at 96 Amp Constant Discharge(12C)
Rated at 128 Amp Burst for 10 seconds(16C)
495 grams
It is just a matter of $$$ and how fast your want to go.

good/bad/questions
good:
more run time, higher voltage, more rugged (hopefully), the future
bad:
no established rules/regulations from ifmar/roar/efra/etc
not enough compeition
new chargers needed (for some people)
more sensitive to over charging/discharging
price
questions:
is this an 'exclusive' distribution thing (ala the epic/sanyo north america
if it's a 2c pack, and you can't charge the packs equally, won't they become un-matched (and eventually damaged) down the road by over charging/discharging?
does anyone know if the kokam voltage meter/esc-receiver interruptor is sold separately to prevent over discharging?

For those of you who think that all Lipos are equal your wrong. As more companies get involved in this new technology there will be improvements made just like nicads and Nimh improved over time. I have never tested Lipos buut I find it hard to believe that all packs perform the same.

Who makes the good charger for these baby `s ?
Danny !!!
I`m gona buy Li-Po cus they are the fastest cells available....
Is`nt that why you are selling the 3800`s?
They R faster than the 3300`s...
But so sorry , those 3800`s R gona have to get use to chasing me & my Li-Po`s....
1st came the Brushless motor`s...
then the Li-po battery`s....
Everything has change but the rules ......

Just as with any type of rechargeable cells there are good lipos and bad lipos.
You have cheap chinese stuff that has no power and then you have the good stuff. Afaik Kokam is the only company manufacturing high discharge rate Lipos.
The trick here is that Orion managed to get a Lipo that fits inside any car without modifications and also looks good. It's not like buying some Lipos from FMA and having a bunch of silvery plastic bags taped to your chassis ready to fly out on the first crash...

Does anyone know what other advantages li-poly have compared to IB/GP nimh we currently run. I do know they are lighter and are higher in capacity, which offer more runtime, but what about wear and tear? Do they last longer than Nimh, specially when use in modified? Can they be run more than twice a day? Thanks in advance.

from what i have read lopos will last about 10 times longer than standard NiMh cells, at least that is what kokam says about their scorpion packs. They also have lower internal resistance so u get a lot more punch. The discharge curve is also very flat, so the cells dont fall off after a couple of mins like Nimh or Nicd cells.

I can't wait until they become main...
steam. RCs getting better and better. Love my GTB brushless system.

The great thing is that they fit any cars and have the protection of the nice case. When I tried some airplane lipos I distroyed the plastic bag around them after a crash.
