On the rear of the CRC cars, we shim up the pod plates (how much varies if you have a slider rear pod or not) or you can use our F1 pod plates. I know shimming up the pod plates seems "wrong", but you can not tell the difference on the track.
On the front, we add shims between the front plate and the chassis and just use longer screws.
Other than having your car in front of me (which is always a possibility), or you posting pics, all I can tell you is what we do.
We want WGT-R to grow, so if that means working on other brands, we are more than willing to do it.

I've not seen any issue that's insurmountable. I mean, these are pan cars, it's just not that complicated. We should be able to get most any pan car to work without too much effort at all.
Building a VBC now, and I'll report back...
CRC folks are taken care of, just need to hear back from those that might have tried the X1/F1 pod plates, so the Xray guys have a solution. Like you said, putting a 2mm whatever spacer under the existing pod plates is not a deal anyway.

For those that have the Xray X10, I just converted mine over for rubber tire. All you need is 2.5mm shims for the rear pod along with the 2.5 ride height spacer. For the front I use 4mm shims under the from plate that mounts the arms. That should get you to 5mm over all ride height with CRC rubber tires.

CRC rubber tires on carpet oval-success!
FYI, we ran the same rubber tire last Saturday at CRC on carpet oval. Tires hooked up great and worked awesome. They look awesome on the cars as well, very scale appearing.
Here are a couple pics of my KSG Gen2 w/ the rubber tires mounted. 7mm ride height (rule is 5mm minimum). It is the wrong body, an old C-HD from seasons past but it sure looked like an authentic (old) cup car riding on the CRC rubber tires.

I'm confused now. Is the Foam WGT class being replaced by the CRC RT1 rubber tire class all together or are there two different classes being run as WGT and WGT-R?
I'm in New England and our on road season starts in late October. Our race director is still in off road mode as our local track is hosting a big JConcepts race this weekend and he has never even heard of the RT1 tires.

I just use normal aluminum shims with a 3mm inner diameter to shim the bulkheads up. For the X10 there are four shims for the rear pod. One for each screw. Touring car arm shims should work just fine. You are correct, this will move the motor up 2.5mm from the original position.
