I know you have a lot of motor experience EA so I trust your opinion. I am usually coming off not higher than 125-130F on an F1 with no motor fan. Is it worth the adding the weight of the fan and trying to mount on an F1 to get down to 110-115F with a fan ? Thank you !

I run on a super tight hi bite very small track also sometimes and others are geared 69/27-28 with a b6. Which is 6.4 to 6.64 Fdr. I know some motor don't like to be geared down this low. How is the motiv mc2 at this fdr? Thx much!!

I think that would probably be a safe starting point. Just be sure to check temps after a few minutes into the first run, and keep an eye on them after each full run. We try to keep the motor between 140-160 for most 2s onroad applications which I assume would be the ideal range for 2WD buggy as well. It is okay to go over 160 on occasion but I would try to avoid that if possible. It just helps preserve the rotor strength and increases the life of the motor.

17.5T available
If anyone is looking to buy a 17.5 MC2, Stormer Hobbies has 3 in stock. I just bought one myself. Can't wait to give her a spin!

Is the motiv 1 and 2 senor board interchangeable?

I don't have direct experience but I currently run an MC1 17.5T in an 2WD buggy on a medium sized clay track with medium to high traction. It is awesome. I wonder if the is mislabeled because it is fast and can hang with the mod guys. Great torque and top speed. I run it 72/32 at 48* with a wtf fan. Comes off the track with a 20 minute practice just over 100*. I can't imagine what a 13.5 could do. I have run Trinity 1S,Fantom tuned Trinity, Orion, and Reedy in the same car. My MC1 easily beats all of them in Torque and top end speed. I have my MC2 on order. Can't wait to wire her up!

When are the MC2's going to be readily available? You are killing me with this limited release of stock...
I currently run a MC1 17.5 and am about due for a new motor. I've been patiently waiting for what seems like months and would love to stick with Motiv but time is now becoming a factor in my motor choice.

Unfortunately the motors come in at random times and random quantities. This is an unfortunate byproduct of our supplier producing a quality product. They can either make motors fast, or make fast motors. A lot of what comes in goes out to hobby shops and online shops that have placed orders. So you may check with your local shop to see if they have some already on the way. If not, keep checking around various online shops. I have added a list of 4 or 5 online shops in our wikipost above that have already had MC2s in stock. I try to update this list weekly. Last option if you want to be put on the backorder list, please email Paul at [email protected]. Please specify the motor you need, what class you are running and your mailing address.

Totally understand. It's frustrating for Paul too. He knows it's not the ideal situation.
It really depends on when TP placed his order, but I'd imagine he would probably get them soon. As soon as Paul can get some to him anyway.
Thanks

Any gearing/boost/turbo recommendations for 2WD Buggy on a large outdoor track?
I've never messed around with boost and local track is doing a boosted class for a trophy race this weekend.
