More tweaks. I put spacers behind the ballstuds on the rear hubs to reduce the "sweepback" angle of the top link. This gives a couple of mm of extra travel on the rear right corner as in kit spec the droop is limited by the top link fouling the transmission casing. The mod requires ballstuds with a longer thread so I used the 5x9 ones from the front suspension of the deceased M06 that was the main parts donor for this build. I also got round to installing a #54673 LWB aluminium prop shaft. At 11g this saves 19g over the steel version. And that's 19g less rotating weight, nasty rotating weight that sat way up top on the chassis. This is A Good Thing. As every little bit helps I've dropped in a Savox SC1251MG low profile servo and the #54658 aluminium servo mount, partly because I like blue bits and because in the initial build I stripped a thread in the stock (very soft) plastic mount. Hate it when that happens. And then after all that effort I sort of ruined it by putting the chassis under an old M04L Beetle shell I had lying around, I really need to find a nice low Carson 914 body one day... The advantage with a Beetle is that you can - in my opinion at least - get away with running TC wheels without looking dumb because 1:1 Beetles have such comparatively large wheels anyway.

Thank you. The Beetle shell is a straight fit. If you want to play it ultra safe trim another 2mm out of the front wheel arches for a tad more clearance depending on your choice of tyre. Not tried rally blocks on it, I suspect they'd need even more trimming or the body mounting a notch higher on the posts.
A word to anyone thinking of running the HPI Porsche 911 RSR on the SWB chassis setting. It fits no problem as long as you don't get creative and try to use the M05 Carbon Damper Mount on the front. If you do it fouls the body so it's sits too high and looks odd unless you're aiming for the Dakar rally look.

Oh, one more question: Are the rear toe-in generated by the rear lower suspension arm or by the hub? Thanks!

This looks really interesting, I see you can make this a 239mm wheel base, so would the taisan Porsche fit this chassis, its 237mm but close enough, any one try to fit it. Also on the same topic, would the 1/12 martini Porsche body fit. thanks

I think with the Taisan 911 GT2 shell you'll have an issue with width unless you fit heavily offset wheels.

Thanks not worried about the width, just the wheel base as the car can be built to 239mm but the bodies are 237mm, thanks

I ordered everything, to make this car work with the Tamiya corolla wrc body. I wanted a newer chassis which would accept lipos without any issues. I got all the active hobby options, spec r options, Tamiya options, and all the various parts needed, also picked up all aluminum screws, well lets just say this kit ended up costing me almost 600 dollars, I hope its worth it for a short wheel base chassis and is lots of fun once built. Will update once its built and put up some pictures.
