Default Serpent Natrix 748e

Serpent have released their new 200mm electric touring car. Following on from the awesome 747e.

I seriously question how much of a difference "performance wise" it will be vs the 747e

Probably similar to 747 to 748 nitro version which is quite a bit!

What do I need to do to this car to make it a 190 mm class car? Local indoor track runs 190mm instead of 200mm so I'm on a quest to run this in the 190mm class if all possible.

You'd have to cut the arms and run shorter driveshafts. By doing that you would mess up all the roll centres and geometry. I don't think the car would work very well. You'd be better off finding a 411 2.0 or 3.0 I've spotted a few in the for sale section going for not too many dollars.

Will a 13.5t 540 brushless fit and be adequate enough on 3s? Does it come with a pinion if not what pitch/mod? There s such little info on this car. I've got a touch of foams I'd like to eat up with this thing

I think you'll struggle with a 540 motor on 3s. They are designed for 2s. 2s on 4.5 - 5.5 is a much better option. The car is awesome and plenty of info on the Serpent site and the Facebook page (just search Serpent 748e on Facebook). It doesn't come with a pinion (as all pro level cars) but the spur is 48dp. Use the calculator on the serpent site to choose the right pinion which is depended on cells count, tyre diameter and spur.

Not a huge amount. Just the new bits from the 748 gas car such as the new 'TQ' diffs. The motor mount arrangement, centre pulleys and the way the top deck connects makes the 748e flex in a more uniform manner. I had the 747e which was a conversion from the previous seasons gas car and now a fresh build 748e and the 748e is definitely a better car than the 747e.
