To be honest, I know the ads pay for the Mags, but do they need SO MANY ads in there, I buy RC Car Action over here in the UK, and you got to wade through half of the mag just to get to the first article, sure is frustrating. And it isn't like what RC Car Action writes is that great either........

RCCA is pretty lame. I starting reading it from about somewhere in the mid 80's and still feel the need to subscribe. The amount of ads for products that many serious racers will never buy really gets annoying. I still think it is a good mag for those who are just getting into the hobby.
Main reason I buy it:
It just gives me something to flip through while sitting on the can.

Somehow, I don't believe the oval thing.
Considering the history with Trinity and oval racing, and the disappearance of oval product support and coverage through the 90s when they had no oval products or team, I would find it comical if that were the real reason there were no T ads in that rag.
Eddie, I would beg to differ with you on your comment, too. With the shear volume of advertising Ernie has done in the last 15 years in that magazine, it would be a VERY big deal if it were suddenly gone. Anyone who has watched the trends in the R/C car industry over the last 25 to 30 years would know that Trinity's market footprint and advertising dollar has a MASSIVE effect on what is bought, sold and generally popular at any given time. There are few other companies who have that type of control or effect over this industry.
Though, I would tend to put money on the fact that oval racing has nothing to do with the reduction of Trinity/EPIC advertisements in any publication. They are impulsive windsocks, but I just don't see them taking that kind of stand for a section of racing that has not only seen better days, but really has very little product in their line. Whether dirt, asphalt or carpet, they almost have nothing usable for any of those racers. I would also guess that for how those racers were treated by Trinity in the last 15 years, no one would buy any of their products anyway.
On a side note, did anyone else feel that the Ernie Provetti full-page ad complaining about the ROAR management a few months ago was a completely ridiculous attempt to flex his muscles with his ad dollars and magazine relationships?

Trinity pulled their ads because RCCA did a story on Chad Phillips cheating at the Vegas race.
