mf2 bearings boca or acer
i'm looking to upgrade my stock mf2 bearings to either better ones or ceramics . any suggestions or comments about experiences with either of these

Take a look here at Avid Bearing. These are the bearings some of the pros use and you can't beat the pirce!

I bought a bunch of bearings for my 12th scale car from Avid. They ship fast and you can't beat the prices.
When a bearing got dirty or gritty and I couldn't clean it easily, I just tossed it. In my opinion that's a better option than spending big money on one set of special bearings.
I thought ceramic bearings were not recommended for offroad.

That's what I was gonna say. It's like this-take a ceramic pot and roll it on the floor. It will be okay. Take the same pot and drop it on the floor. That's what'll happen to your ceramic bearings in an offroad vehicle.

I use either the TeamLosi bearings or Avid also.
"Off topic"....Phatkat, I noticed in your signature a quote from another member. From the quote it's obvious he did not know we sold WMD's to Saddam in the 90's to help with some problems we wanted him to handle in the region. Most of the weapons were never used(except in Kuwait) and most have never been found, other then the 20,000+ tons of explosives recently which hasn't gotten much press, odd?
Last thing on the subject, all politicians are in someones pocket, from both sides......Reps and Dems.........

Greg Degani ran Acer Ceramics in his 8th scale buggy and won the worlds with them a few years ago.....
For the weight savings and friction loss you will experience...let alone the super long free wheel spin time......I think it's worth the extra cash.....

Although what you say is true about Greg 99% of us in here won't be running at the worlds anytime soon so IMO they are not worth the extra money. Right now Acer has the ceramic bearing set on sale for 99.00 which I think includes 14 8x16 bearings. You can buy 7 sets of 14 from Avid for the same money. Greg would have won the worlds that year, ceramics or not!

The ceramics are crazy expensive for most racers or bashers. I would think 4 or 5 sets of regular grade bearings replaced when they become gritty, or worn would be better then what most would do with ceramics for the same money. What most would do is leave them in far beyond their lifespan and try and stretch their use because of the expense.............The exception would be those with deep pockets who don't worry about what it costs if they might win..imo....
