Ok guys, I'm needing some advice. I'm new to RC and am wanting to race in the Aussie outdoor tarmac clubs.
I've decided to go with the SF2 after months of research and comparing prices (available to me). I now have to decide on electronics, I have a Futaba 3PV and SAVOX SC-1257TG but now need a smooth power delivery 21.5T brushless, Blinky ESC and batteries.
I would just go down to the local track... except for most of the year I live in China (til the end of this year) and there are no tracks in my city (and I cant speak the language well). So you guys who run the SF2 are my best place for advice I figure.
You all know the handling characteristics and have done a fair bit of trial and error I am assuming too.
So can I ask you gurus on your preferences? Make and models would be awesome for ease of searching.
Thanks all.
Looking forward to getting the parts together so I can build my significantly upgraded car over the basic F104 I have been thrashing around for the past few years!

Anyone here with an SF2 Wide version that can tell me what wheels and tyres you run? I attached a set of Tamiya foams and the car in now riding 11mm off the ground! No way I have enough shims (spacers... whatever they are called) to raise the front high enough to lower the car to 4mm. Let alone the rear end.

Thanks roosterreagan, I can confirm that I'm running both f104 FOAM tyres and wheels. I had a play today with some shims on the front suspension. I was planning on lifting the whole front suspension section, but realised I couldn't due to the length of the screws. So at best I added about 0.5mm. I also moved the positions of the shims on the kingpins, which gave me a few extra mm. But it still sits at 5mm not the 4mm I'm chasing.
Also it was 1998 when the FIA introduced the 1.8m wide cars as well as the stupid grooved tyres (3 at the front, 4 at the rear).
I can't get the rear wheels to match the 200mm width of the front end... Not without a sizable bush on the inside of the wheel. Leaving a very small amount of thread available for the wheel nut!
Would pics help to explain my issues?
Side note... How's the sf3?
