Questions?? First RC - tire replacement

Getting my son an exceed madspeed drifter for his b-day.

Ill probably end up getting one too.
Will get brushed version but will upgrade to lipo- brushless down the road.

I need to order stickier rubber tires to put on after he gets the hang of the car.

I read that streetforce gp Duratrax Tire Radial w/Foam will fit but I think the guy got new rims too.

Im looking for just tires that will replace the hard stock exceed drift tires that are stickier rubber.

Or do I need a new rim/tire combo?

Will any 1/10 rc rim fit?

Any recommendation for a cheap rim/tire combo that will fit if I cant just replace tires?

thanks

Ok first on behalf of the good guys here on tech sorry nobody responded before now. Second I'm pretty sure any 12mm touring car wheels and tires will work just fine. Hpi makes tires called x patterns that would probably do a good job for just running around the streets.
