Sorry
Did you put it that far out of balance that it shook itself to bits??

not at all. I sent the crank, piston and rod to a friend. He balanced it and sent it back. I put it back in the engine and ran it at superior this past weekend. It was extreemly fast, it pulled harder than a MAX and never reached above 220. I was in my trailer and a few guys came by to ask what I was running because they were running modded engines and the other guy was running the MAX and they couldn't believe how fast it was. I took it out of my car to clean it and showed them what I had done. I sat it on the work bench and said that if anybody wanted the engine, they could have it for $100.00 because I only did it for an experiment. Needless to say, I don't have it anymore.

My budy the machinist said that it wasn't that far out of ballance, he lightened the rod and trimmed the piston on one side then made a couple "divits" on the crank lobe. If I can get ahold of the guy that has the engine now, I will have him take some pics and email them to me.

one more thing, before I had the ballancing done, when I tried to run the car, it did have an issue with the rear of the car wanting to come around on me as soon as I got on throttle, but afterwards, I didn't. The only thing that I had done differently was change the shock oil in the rear shocks. If it was out of balance, would that cause the car to be loose?

i couldnt imagine a off balance crank making car want to spin around coming onto throttle... more likely too stiff rear suspension or even more likely a tweak issue, which was rectified or made better when you rebuilt the shocks.

actualy, I should have reposted what I discovered. I did a last minute suspension adjustment at Ft Myers the weekend before and forgot about it. I had used antisquat, negative caster, leaning the rear lower arms forward to get rid of some traction and didn't take it back out. Forgot all about it till I took the car apart to clean it.

Lightbulb balance crank

How do you balance the crank after modification your self. Or do you have to alway have to go to a machinist to balance.

Dont mean to sound like a sceptic, but why is there a thousand threads on here claiming "I did this" but never any pics. The camara broke, the whatever was stolen, I sold it.

For gods sake people, take the pics before you post. Its such a letdown thinking you are going to get to see some new design or mod & it never materialises. Oh well better get back to making my new Supercharged, Turboed, NO2 powered Mini T. Will post pics when I am done
