Ran the yz-4 on loose dirt last weekend and was hooked up. Got the berzerk supaflex topdeck with some aka impacts.

So is the flex top deck primarily for dirt, or are there advantages to it on carpet also?

I always thought a stiffer chassis was better for carpet, therefore, stock top deck is the best, but I see LMR and now other people making these flex top decks.

I believe it helps absorb some energy in bumpy sections of the track . Team yokomo has been using it on high grip tracks with tons of side bite to take some twitch out of the car . Gives ya a split second to watch your buggy before it traction rolls I had my first ever dirt race on sunday and had lap times as fast as the 1/8 scale guys. With the berzerk supaflex I can get the chassis to twist a bit with my hands.

I asked Bezerk to modify the YZ4 battery stays. I wanted to be able to hold the battery in position and achieve flex for extra traction...I found that the exisiting hold down battery strap kept the rear of the buggy ridge....so I came up with this mod.

yep 0 it is , I tried 0 on carpet and went back to 2 . I have noticed changes on carpet are much more pronounced then dirt . Also I have put the rear belt upper tensioner back on with 3mm of spacer between the top deck and pulley mount as I was getting some ratchiting sound out of the corners with the narrow belt kit . The stock wide belt never skipped though even without that second tensioner .

@carpetburner...thanks for the clarification on the zero antisquat. I found it a little unusual, but never did try it out. I'll stick with the 2 degrees.

Ive been running 0 for a while now and its epic, car is super planted, coupled with the LMR top deck the car can be put wherever i want it, its took a while to find a set up that suits our carpet and control tyre, but not its there, its bags of fun to drive and very agile.

For carpet, most of the setups I see use the wide sch. stagger in front. Does or has anyone tried a sch. low profile stagger 2wd wheel/tire in the front on the 4wd? If so, what effect does it have compared to the normal 4wd front wheel?

I tried it and got a lot of scrubbing sounds from the back tires being overdriven . Also I fried my slipper pads in 3 packs . It did take some steering out. I ended up cutting the inside lip off the rim and running SCHU6759 slim staggers with open cell SCHU6738 foam
