Is 80 the biggest spur you can run on the yokomo?

Why would you need anything bigger!? I'm running a 6.5 80/22 and it's really good.

We have a small bullring size track.

I Ran a 9.5 today.

80 /19 and it ran great. Temp was 120 deg which what I got from the Tekin RSX esc data

Also tried 78/21.

Just wondering what my buddy would run gearing wise for his 8.5t?

And I was just asking about is the biggest spur that would work. That was it..

Thank you

Didn't mean to be rude or anything. I believe even on 5.5t setups that I have seen they are still on the 80spur.

On a buggy I have a hard time seeing a need for anything bigger than 81 tooth. On a YZ in that fact I wouldnt want to run anything bigger than that incase something did get stuck under the spur.

Guys, tried searching but no answers, what's breaking on that car? I don't remember replacing any parts on my 22s in the past 2 years, should I expect the same durability?

Thx!

Only thing that broke for me was when I caught a weird angle wall with the front wheel off a jump. Broke the front bulkhead and nothing else. Car has been a bull for me.

Not much, I've only broken a ball cup so far.

30+ race days for me = two front bulkheads (more commonly called the top plate on other cars but Yoke labels it as that) and a rear arm. The cars don't even really slop out that bad - I still have the gull-wing front arms I put on it after it's second race day, original rear hub carriers, etc. and I only race carpet/turf.

Any success so far at worlds? I would expect this car to shine on that track!

Lee Martin is 5th on qual points right now when he was often labeled as the "favorite" going in so time for some random, generally useless forum speculation:
When new turf is laid down or old turf is used such that it's orientation to the direction of the cars is changed, speaking from personal experience, that tends to leave the turf lacking forward bite specifically, the same thing this car lacks inherently. The grip on turf, even turf that's been used a while but has had a layout change, isn't immediately the velcro it's critics think it is. With many racers there commenting on how the track felt "weird", especially in the early runs, Yokomo may simply be, surprisingly, caught out by this.

The turf can change based on ambient temp, morning and nights often change the characteristics as well,,, but at this point it's not from a direction change,, they have a visible groove on it now and have had it. Could it be down to driver again considering every manufacturer is basically running the standard Yok flat trans now? Those guys are all sick fast, fast drivers are fast anywhere as long as they can get the car dialed in.

A contrarian thought to your direction - when you gear mod motors way down like that, you tend to turn them into on/off switches - something that doesn't help laptimes due to the diminished smoothness and the tendency to then use more full-throttle gets them warmer no matter how small the track is. Try gearing it like normal (23-24ish/80 on an 8.5) to take advantage of a smoother power delivery and I'd bet it doesn't run warmer either. Even on the smallest track I run on, I use a 7.5 geared at 22/77 and it rarely goes much over room temperature.

I was streaming the qualifying rounds last night and I saw all of Martin's rounds as well as Wernimont and what seemed to be the issue in the beginning for the cars was those rubber speed bumps. Lee finally got that section under control with the car but got collected in crashes on two seperate qualifying rounds and that gave him some tough runs. He finally was able to get a clean go at it with whatever changes he made and put down 18 laps in round four. Tebo and Craigg are just in their own world right now for qualifying. They both had crashes in that fourth round and STILL pushed Lee back to 3rd. Tebo was even running 16 second laps. The car looks good and it will be interesting to see what changes were made to deal with the japanese five spice (what the announcers were calling the speedbumps).
