Maybe I have a bad 2052 but I didn't like it. The motor ran hot and didn't make power. I switched to a Max 2018 and it ran great. The 2052 just never felt right.

As far as "bad pipes" go this is what I have experienced. The converging cone was not welded when the two halves of the pipe went together= an untunable engine that is guaranteed to piss you off more than the women you divorced and knockouts for the oil drain holes in the converging cone floating around and blocking off the stinger.

Funny thing is the same 2052 pipe runs killer on my Picco engine. It just won't run on any of my Nova's.

i ran with the rb2018 it was very smooth on power . the 2052 just gave more grunt on the top end and i play with other headers to get the right feel from the engine . i have never had a pipe make an engine run hot . but any thing can happen

It will if it makes the engine tune different. If you have to lean more to get power from the engine due to a "bad pipe".

Default MAX 312

Hi all,

Has anybody tired the Max 312 engine? I broke in the bugger and after that i found that the crankshaft had bend and was wondering where i could get a replacement shaft.

The crank is on the old inner bearing of the engine case of size 10.5mm and i found that the crankshaft is not milled one-piece. Instead it was a joint-ed crankshaft.

Anybody care to share their experience with this engine?

Thanks

Can someone tell me what a Max .21 XRS is based on? I may need a p/s set and can't find the Max parts. What's is the Novarossi version of this motor? Also is there a longevity issue with this motor? Piston/sleeve didn't last at all and yes I broke it in correctly.

This may or may not help you but, I searched the forum for you and found this comment on page one of this thread http://www.rctech.net/forum/exclusiv...r-engines.html

It seems reasonable, the bore/stroke is the same, and nova hasn't really made anything different recently except if it has the o-ring around the head which I don't believe the xrs does.

"If I'm understanding you correctly, the stock P/S/R/H for the 35 Plus 21 will fit in my XRS-21 case.

The Novarossi part # I found for the 35 Plus 21 P/S/R/H set is # 08551."
