I may put on my BIG BOY pants and attend this year. Having never been to a Hotel race, what can I expect to see/need? How is it run? Format? Pitting? Any info will be a help. Thanks.

There will be registration and an informal grip session late Thursday night, practice all day Friday, qualifiers Saturday and the last chance qualifier followed by the Mains on Sunday. Pitting is trackside in the ballroom. There will be an on site hobby shop for your RC needs. You can expect to see national level competition, race prizes and trophies, good times, heartache and Bill Sydor. Basically everything an RC race should have.

The hotel has a full service restaurant and bar. There is a gas station at the other end of the parking lot if you need to buy snacks. There are stores, bars and restaurants within a mile or two either direction on Royalton Rd. You'll also be in the midwest in late November, what other reason do you need to spend all weekend indoors?

Lastly, having mentioned Sydor, I feel it is important to point out that this is not a pants optional race. So, the classification of pants isn't nearly as important as their presence and proper use.

And if you aren't counting, we are now 90 days away from when the world desends on Cleveland...

Wow - you really worked for that Sydor reference.

The race is a lot of fun. Plenty of pit space, comfortable chairs and you can always wander over to your room between heats. I highly recommend you attend. Good time.

This is especially nice when you want to poop without the fear of Wayne Gerber barging in on you.

Default Just wondering..

Is an RC3 or RC4 decoder being used?
Will tires for the spec USGT class have to be purchased at the race?
Have the tires for TC been chosen yet?

Thanks.
