you have to buy the jr recievers......it has to be synthasized....you do have two options though....you can go with the 300 or the 310....one of them i cant remeber which one is the new and smaller one.....or the toher is jjust a little bit bigger...both are the same though

You do NOT have to use synthesized rx's. The JR will work with Airtronics, KO & Novak rx's. JR is not compatible with Futaba. Futaba & HiTec use negative shift while pretty much everyone else uses positive shift.

The RS310 is the smaller of these receivers.

you guys have no idea how radios work. Like duneland said, futaba and hitec use negative shift. But you don't have to get a sythesized receiver even though the transmitter is synthesized. Just make sure it is an fm receiver and the crystal you have matches the freq in the radio (79 in rec, 79 in rad, etc). I have an xs3 and a jr fm crystal receiver in my touring car that works perfect. I feel you, I wouldn't feel like shelling out $75 for a receiver either.

And I use my futaba 3pk transmitter on receivers of futaba, hitec, sanwa and JR/Graupner without any problem...

You have to be careful when buying crystals though... I can use JR crystals in my sanwa receiver, but they don't work properly in the hitec receiver. The hitec crystals mostly only work in my hitec receivers.

It shouldn't! I can't imagine why it does.
A friend of mine had a Precious(KO) that worked with Futaba AM recievers! That most deffinately was not supposed to work.
