Lightbulb TA05 V2 R VS. TB03 VDS

I've owned a tamiya tt01d for 5 years and am planning to build my second kit, either ta05 ver2 R or tb03 Vds (ta05 vdf is too expensive USD 466), i plan to use it mainly for drifting and a little bashing, both kits cost USD 290 in our LHS. which kit do you guys think I should get? thanks

I would have thought belt over shaft for drift as it opens up the possibility to alter front/rear drive ratios (counter steer/over drive)

With small modifications. Evo4, Evo5 & Evo6 all work inside each chassis. You can achieve over/under that way

Neither of those are very good drift cars to be honest. The ta05 has the weight placemat pent all wrong, (I had one) and I have heard the vds has a balance and flex pattern that is all off for good drifting.

The vdf I is about 370 on ebay... And that's what I would get in that price range. To make it into an excellent drifter though you really need to drop a bunch more on the drift steering kit and aluminum bulkheads to get better angle as well as the aluminum hangers to give better durability.

If you still don't want a vdf... Go with the ta05 and place some weight over the front
bumper. Another option to consider is the xv01 pro tc. It makes an excellent drifter (had one)

Just as a thought...the R is pretty hard to get nowadays, and I'm sure someone would be very happy to buy it. You probably won't make any money, but you would probably make someone happy.

TA05-VDF version one can be found at very reasonable pricing. Contact your local hobby shop.
