Resurrecting this thread to say that the concept took a sharp turn, mainly because it wasn't BL motor friendly so the entire mid section will be redesigned and new parts made from scratch.
The concept now is:
-Shorty pack lengthwise is the default layout, motor will no longer be centered but to the side. Stick and saddle pack are possible;
-Aiming for a 50:50 weight bias Fr-Rr;
TODO list:
-new spur gear mount, Alcyon can mount the spur in the middle of the pulleys like any post 416 car out there, this OB4 can't, it has to be mounted to the outside. Need need pulleys with different mounting. *EDIT* Schumacher Mi5 is the one with the same mounting*edit*
-layshaft holders, eh pretty easy.
-motor mount, T4 like.
-new belts, not so easy.
-my patented lipo cradle(which is something akin to the Mi5 solution
)
-new chassis and upper deck to take advantage of all this.
