Help me choose a Charger
hi.
I am going to get into racing electric tourers. (coming from a nitro background)
I am looking for a charger/discharger. I already have a multiplex LN-5014 charger which is great coz it does lipo's and Pb's. And i will keep this charger for that reason...
but i am looking at a more seriose charger for electric racing to do NiMH's... (i wont need the charger to do lipos or Pb's coz i already got the LN 5014)
I wanna buy a single charger/dishcarger that will do all my electric racing needs.... i want to buy a charger so i dont have to upgrade later.
If i was to buy any of these, would they be sufficient?
LRP Pulsar 2 Competition
Eagle Racing (#1796-080) CDC Charger Ver.6.0/B
Competition Electronics (#4310) Turbocharger Pit Bull X3

Yep, but there are a few others to look at in those price ranges (I assume you have or will be getting a decent power supply given the chargers already listed):
Duratrax Ice
Novak Ionic-D
Integy 16X5v6
Team Orion Advantage
Personally, I like the Ice. But, I guess you just have to look at all of them and see which features appeal the most to you. They're all good chargers that should take care of your batteries quite nicely.

The ADvantage charger looks good...
But if you're considering serious electric TC racing. Then you should not only consider a one unit charger and discharger. Its not enough. You should get a discharge tray,eg Novak's smart / flatliner tray to deep discharge your cells to get a better charge out of them.
Using the charger's discharge function is not enough to do the job.

- LRP Pulsar 2 Compettion is a great charger, it also have motor run function but only 10A discharge.
- Pitbull X-3 is a derivative of Turbo 35 with charge function only.
If you want to try others :
- Team MuchMore Cell Master, worth buying with a lot of features : linear charge, new method step-charging, ly-po charge, discharge.
- Competition Electronics Turbo 35 GFX : Expensive but with all features you need for. Linear charge, Discharge upto 35A, Motor-run, cycle function with data mode.
If your budget isn't strong enough, try Cell Master or Pulsar 2. But if budget is not a problem to you, try Turbo 35 GFX. You will use it till you are old.

I have a Duratrax Ice and I love it. I also have a Victor. I use them both quite regularly. Funny thing is, if you want one, I have a victor for sale. It's my back up victor.

i am looking now at a Supernova Competition
it has this feature
Reverse Time Function is designed to fully charge a battery pack right before the start of a race.
was wondering if the LRP Pulsar 2 comp has that feature?
thanks
