So, is it done deal now? Spec class or stock class is any 5 port stock engine unmodified whatsoever that is under $300 street price?

That sounds good. Do you have a listing of those engines? I'm considering an 1/8 scale kit this winter and want to have an idea of engines I can put into it that will fit this class. Thanks

Before people go jumping on 5 port engines I would ask your local orginization if they are adopting this class.

If they have not and its something you like, maybe you can talk to them about it.

Carl/Robbie, maybe you guys could put together a PDF on the class for racers to present to their local orginizations?

Cheers,

John

Great. Soon as you all get the .pdf done, let us know. I will definately present it to the local clubs around here. There are various clubs in Virginia, DC and Maryland and hopefully some (if not all) will adopt the new category.

Robbie--- I think the direction you have for 1/8th scale is awesome... The idea of a low cost solution to racing these cars is great. I spoke to Mikey and Daniel at the worlds and thought it made a lot of sense.. I would be interested in doing something in the future for that type of class....

I hope this class works out. This should help the class grow in Vegas. What's
up Robbie.

There will be many cool things happening for racer's at this weekends Katrina benefit race bodies have been donated for raffle by www.kolorsbykropy.com one 1/8TH scale protoform and one sedan protoform all proceeds will go to the relief fund for those who are less fortunate as us.
Just think one day we might be looking to them for help.

I was wondering, would the 1/8 scale RTR from Power Racing Products, the XR80, or the Schuemacher GTR RTR meet the requirements for this SPEC class? Would there be an exemption for folks running an unmodified stock version of either of these vehicles?

Just curious since they are the only 1/8 scale on-road nitro RTRs that I am aware of. I know after downing some research I am leaing towards the Power Racing car. Whether RTR or kit (XR8) I think they come in at a good price point.
