As per other post I had seen the pages and pages regarding the 17.5T but have heard nothing about the 13.5T.

Appears to have been poorly handled.

I expected all blinky spec d3.5's to be removed, just to keep things simple.

But I am disappointed that I havent heard about the D4 yet.

Oops, it was the D3 I saw not D3.5, See screen shot with highlight.

D3.5 = 1081
D3 = 1051 (!!!)

On the 13.5, sure glad I didn't buy one couple of weeks ago and went for the X20 instead (as combo with new ESC)

I guess if the rules have been changed to remove references to wire gauge, then it goes as well.

Be interesting to see what half the field at my local track do at the upcoming meet

I believe it was stated all d3.5 spec motors would be removed. 13.5 = Spec. 10.5 = Mod at least in the USA.

Re reading the settlement from June last year, seems it was along the lines of "D3.5 to be legal until release of D4 *or* April 1, which ever arrives sooner"

Shame the D4 is obviously delayed. Will leave quite a few stockists with motors that will be hard to shift with no direct replacement.

Been telling everyone for months the that all but mods and 21.5's would be off and no one listened. The 21.5's were approved under the new method of testing and were OK all along.

There is no ETA on the D4 yet either according to Trinity.

But the problem Was with the 17.5 motor not the 13.5. That's what the statement said. Pretty pissed as I just bought a new 13.5.

You do realize there are other motors out there? Orca motors were just about as fast as d3.5 except they are legal now. Maybe you should try one of those. Its what I will be running for now.

No the problem was with wire gauge. The press release from trinity referred to the 17.5, but it wasn't exclusively that motor - it was a wire gauge vs strand diameter issue..

Of course. I don't have one, nor planned to buy one, just saying it becomes a PITA for retailers with stock they can't shift and no alternative trinity product to offer or better yet, swap out with trinity (if they will credit them)

Holy moly, just when you thought the whole thing couldn't be handled more poorly.

The 17.5 was just the first one tested by ROAR. They never said the 13.5 legal or illegal.....And the statement by ROAR says D35's. So it was not made clear to the public.

looks like roar took all spec motors off the list when it was only meant to be the 17.5

http://www.trinityrc.net/wp-content/...SETTLEMENT.pdf

The statement above from Trinity's website, and then this from Roar's website specifically points to the 17.5t motor.

http://roarracing.org/4rmb/showthrea...sed-OEM-motors

Roar's statement says they were unable to find a motor in Trinity's D3.5 range that matched the 17.5 Stock rules. Nothing is said about the Roar Super Stock rules which use the 13.5T motor.

Trinity's press release specifically mentions the D3.5/17.5 motor only, never the 13.5.

If there has been an official statement about the Trinity D3.5 range and their compliance or lack there of in the Roar Super Stock rule set, then please link it.
