Hey guys,

Ill make this as short as possible.

I
haven't raced at a track in probably 20years. Locally, there is no place to go. I own 14 acres and I'd like to build a track for me and my kids / friends to play on. I'd like to make it a legit sized track, i.e. length / width / jumps etc
layout and so on. where can I find some info? I want to run 1/8 scale trucks / truggies / buggies and 1/10 scale buggies for my self, but it be as all encompassing as possible.

I wouldn't be opposed to in the future perhaps opening it up for fun to a club since there is no place around that I know of, for close enough driving.

fyi.. I'm in Hamilton / oxford area Ohio

If it were me I would check out fun/popular tracks on the internet.....get location on map and use google earth to get rough track size. That will give you a rough idea of how much space you would need for a track layout vs what others are creating. There is also the google map somebody made of the US and all the tracks per state.

First off I wish I was your friend because with that much room endless possibilities. I had to move from my hometown where I had a good friend that had some land and we had several different track layouts but this was always figured in lanes at least 12' wide, 100' straight, a lot off jumps, water to keep dust down and for grip, driver stand we used a picnic table(driver stand and pit table) pick up truck bed works also. get a pencil and some paper and start drawing ultimately you want an nice flow to the track

if you want to run 1/8 truggies and 1/10 bigguesw be careful, the surface has to be smooth for a buggy.

good clean dirt for a 1/8th scale track 150 X 250 is fun. my track is 100 X 200 great for all but 1/5th scale. if you want to see it go to northwest track section Prineville Or. Northwest section here or track CCRC on face book.. I built my track three yrs ago. towers 40 feet long 8 feet wide SEE pictures on face book CCRC need help I love to answer questions and help I have built three tracks.

Try to keep the track in high area of the property to avoid run off wash out. Keep the track at grade or higher to avoid sitting water spots. Keep the track layout simple but with some minor changes a new lay out could be done with out an equipment rental. Size and jumps is up to you, look at some videos.
