a 100 or 104 tooth spur gives you a good gearing range - the pinion will be based on track and tire sizes, brand of motor, as will it being a Open timing vs a Blinky class.

The carpet track I on yesterday I ran a 100 / 53 w/ 2.10" rear tires - w/ OPEN timing.

I personally use KIMBROUGH Spur Gears - and have for over 20 years.

For pinions - CRC has a really good line, although I use PRS (because I've had them a long time) CRC has Spurs too - they use the smaller 3/32 diff balls, so I've never used them.

oh and btw - that gearing was w/ a TRINITY D3.5 style 13.5 motor w/ open timing...and a Mamba ESC.
