Nitro engine question - newbie question.
Nitro Experts Please Help...
BACKGROUND:
I'm using a Hyper.21 engine with pullstart on an OFNA Dominator and it was properly can carefully broken in. The engine has seen about half a gallon of fuel through it.
After the last run I burned out the remaining fuel and then put some after run oil into the engine.
PROBLEM:
Now the tank is empty and I pull on the pullstart and I get maybe one "pinch" and then the cord just unwinds the rest of the way without any compressions (when this happens I also notice that the flywheel doesn't turn). If I apply friction on the flywheel then I get the 4-5 compressions that I expect.
Is this normal?
I also notice that when I loosen the glow-plug by a few turns the problem goes away (i.e. I can feel the compressions and see the flywheel turning throughout the whole pull of the cord)
Is there something wrong here and should if so, how can I fix it? Or perhaps it's normal for the engine to behave this way when there's no fuel in system?
It's my first nitro so I've still a lot to pick up.

yup...
and i think the reason why the 'compression' seems to come back when when the plug is off is that there is less resistance then and the bearing doesn't slip.. hence each pull gives more turns of the engine..
Bloodclod - you can either remove the PS (be careful though!) and spray up the bearing with nitrocleaner or something.. (winnie had some buggy blast a while ago.. that would work great). Alternatively, if the bearing slips but you can still get decent enough turns of the engine with each pull to get it started, then it ignore and proceed to have more funFunFUN!.
