I've built 3 of these trucks now and all have had some side play, but .2mm of 10mm ID shims took the play up perfectly in all 3. I used Durango shims from the DEX410 gear diffs.

I just picked up a used kit and I'm rebuilding it back to kit setup. What oil comes with the kit?

I have a pretty beat up 22SCT (1.0) that I'm thinking of retiring for dusty offroad track duty, leaving me with a need for a new attack machine for indoor clay. I could go 22SCT 2.0, but I've always wanted a Serpent. Can any of you compare this beast to any previous 2WD SCTs you've had? The only other one I'm currently considering is the Durango, not really looking at the SC10.2.

I'll leave the comparison to others but I really do feel like Durango has abandoned the SC/ST market. There are rumors of a v2 but it's been a long time since that rumor first started. All of the tracks near me also seem to be thinning out the supply of Durango parts. I really did like the truck but I'm happy I switched to Serpent.

well stock it turns a lot can be good or bad trying new setup fri night.but overall i think it is better than 22sct,just need a little more practice time but been busy..
i like the adjustability without having to buy pivot blocks ..and the bad special 4.5 mm socket for captured ball ends and turnbuckles not standard size 3mm i think..
Just got gear diff to try also...gearing a little different from losi, had a little motor heating problem, all better now to much timing ...

I've never owned a Serpent but I'm friends with a Team Serpent driver (onroad) and their quality seems phenomenal. So, my buying finger is itching

The biggest issues I've had with my 22SCT is SERIOUS oversteer, as well as pretty bad slop throughout. I'm hoping the Serpent is more balanced and built to tighter tolerances.

Good to hear! I'm a big Xray fan for sure. I usually pick up a bunch of spare an option parts, worst thing is being caught with no spares at the track when you break something or when conditions change.

I will say for me it doesn't handle like a typical SCT (Comparing to SC10.2). I can definitely feel my buggy handling characteristics in this truck. It extremely nimble and will turn on a dime if you set it up to. The kit set up was a little too aggresive for me but I have a pretty dialed set up now. It's a great kit for sure!
