It will take a lot more than offering up a shaft drive to rival the Awesomatix. The whole engineering package is a piece of work. The thread could just as easily be called "Sedan Under Siege: Rotary Dampers and Low COG."

That said, some company will almost certainly market a shaft car to "compete with the Awesomatix at a fraction of the cost" and people will buy it. Hopefully, it feeds their families and pays for vacations, but it won't make any of us faster.

This is front the awesomatix website:

A new patented suspension dampening system - Smooth, lightweight with a low centre of gravity.
Resulting from having the dampeners mounted low on the chassis without the need for shock towers.
The dampening system is fully adjustable without the need for disassembly.
Rates of the compression and rebound dampening differs in our shock absorbers controllably.

Companies can copy most of the car but I believe the rotary system on sliders is patented.
