One of the m4 nyloc nuts was a little tight and I spun the axle rounding out the inset. Had to raid my spares and dig up a Tamiya m4 nut to finish up. The lhs didn't have the servo saver in stock, so I'm wating on that. All in all it was a nice build.

I've been finding that on a lot of metric nuts lately...the hole in the nylon part is just too small and so way too tight. On the M3 nuts I've been running a tap through them since I have a 3mm tap. The M4 nuts I threaded onto the steel front axles first to loosen them up.

Good idea. I can always run one of the front end mounting screws through to thread them.

Had fun with mounting the f2012 front wing. I notched the ride height spacers to let the wing slip in and then used the piece I cut out as a shim. Trimming the wing where the lower front end mount juts out was easy. I think I removed about 2mm on each side. The wing is nice and snug.

Very nice job. I sprayed a F60 shell up in Golf Leaf Lotus colours for my WTF-1, and it really suits the car.

CRC F1-syr_brca_national.jpg

An excellent day at the first BRCA GT National yesterday.

For this season we are running 1S and 13.5 blinky rules in the F1 class with a lower 950g weight limit. It has been a few years since we had a competitive F1 series in the UK. So great to see a full heat racing again and real interest in the cars.

My WTF-1 was set up as it left the IIC, which was as per kit with a couple of wee tweaks suggested by Mario. Handling was on the money, and fine tuning the motor timing and gearing brought the speed. Please to also have my Vegas buddy Kev Creaser racing his WTF-1 for the first meeting.

I qualified second and Kevin fourth, behind a very quick Mark Green (Serpent team drive, and a world class Gas racer). Please to finish second in the final and give the WTF-1 a podium result on it's UK debut. A good result for the overall BRCA F1 championship.

Next stop for me and my WTF-1 is the Snowbirds, and now counting the days until we fly

PS - shout out to Mark Day...yes still my car is still rocking the Timezone stickers
