Default Handlebar STD vs Suburb 2.0 vs Proton vs barcodes

1/10 buggy - Indoor hard packed clay/dirt mix track damp at race start, by the mains a little dust. Untraveled edges can have a little loom but not in the race line.

Thoughts on the best tire and compound

Similar ? thoughts FOR SC tires.. Suburb SC 2.0 vs handlebar STD SC

Yes...

All depends on how you are set up, being a track most of the site users don't race on a regular basis...there is no correct answer for your question.

From the description you gave, I say:

Buggy: (pink) Losi BK bars in the rear and scrubs up front.

SC Truck: (Gold) suburbs all the way around.

Ask your local fast guys there is a reason they are fast at your track.

New track new dirt... just looking for some ideas to get a little quicker before points start. Tires cost money, trying to narrow choices and save a few bucks.... Even w/ my current tire choices I'm #1 or #2 typically so there is nobody else to ask at this point I forgot about those losi bk's I may hae to give them a go on my 2wd and 4wd rears. I have suburbs (older ones) on the SC 4x4 now, they were the fastest I've had on the truck just not sure if I wanted to try something else or even a different softness,, nobody has even tried the handlebars around here.. Thanks for the comment though.

Gold barcodes? or you mean a "soft" suburb?

I have used the Handlebars STD (SS) and V1 Barcodes (Green).

On a hard packed outdoor track I found the Handlebars remained a little more consistent and was still alright when the track broke up a bit.

Barcodes were good aswell but seemed better on a smoother more groomed track.

I've recently tried the Panther Rattlers (soft) which I think are better than both, by quite a margin.
More all round traction, last a little longer and lets go a bit more gentler.

If a bar type tire works on your track I really like the proline ion. If you have clay in the dirt I would get a clay compound tire. I have used a super soft ion on a clay track and after 2 heats and a main my tires were toast.

I have clay ions.. not so good, but admittedly I didn't use any compound or anything on them. I thought of trying a softer compound but,, very reserved. I loved these tires last year when I was on a all clay track. Will have to consider the panther tires though.

When the local track is dusty we run M3 Suburbs, when it is blown off, or there are enough cars to keep the racing line clean we run MC.

When it is REALLY good, worn Ions in MC compound.

I haven't tested TL tires here yet, but pink and reds may work. Testing will tell.

I found the same, at least for our moist clay indoor, the rattlers in clay are very very good.

Hb pink beams if 2wd buggy, no competition.
4wd can get tricky, since hb doesn't make pink beams buggy front tire, any front tire will just get the car under steers everywhere.
