I'd call the grip medium-high. It was kind of a greasy grip, the cars could move around and turned well.
What was your setup, if you don't mind? It's nice to get different reference points.

Thanks

Also I've been thinking about going back to 1mm on the front outer camberlinks to decrease cambergain..

I'm going to report back in a few weeks when I've had time to get another training session at that high traction track.

Regards,
David
I think I was running 1.5 shim in front and 2.5 shim in rear.

I didn't know that ! I pulled alot of stuff from my T4 and put it in my new 14" car. Hopefully in 2 weeks I'll be able to run my new 14" car on some carpet !

Finally got to run mine and after 3 hours of testing it's dialed now. Love the new car, can drive it even harder then the 13 and it's so forgiving. Now to pick up number 2

What settings did you change from the kit, or from your '13 setup?

P.S. I make the ball studs only 0.5 taller than the originals, and that's ALL the ballstuds

Took my setup from the 13 and also changed the rear bulkhead shim from 2mm to 1mm and its on rails. The track id say is a medium to high bite when the groove comes up.

Yes I will get them posted along with my halloween classic setup. They were really close though. I was waiting on Xray to have an uploadable T4'14 sheet on the site.

Syndrome....There were other cars there that ran the same lap times as the awesomatix cars....just no luck and hit everything but a pace car!

Yup, after 2years of hiatus, I've been itching to get back. I've realized that RC is in my blood which I can never get rid of.

Yeah, so Junior and I both ran our XRAYs this past weekend at Horsham. I had a brand new 14 and Junior had his 13, and Junior broke the track record by 3 seconds in qualifying (I was on a pace to break the track record by about 5 seconds in the same heat until I started hitting everything lol--Valls can testify to this). Ended up with the 3rd fastest qualifying result overall on this layout behind Jr. and Larry. The new car out of the box was incredible.

Both our fast laps in qualifying were nearly identical to the fastest Awesomatix has turned at our track. I won the main, but we both ran a very quick main despite both of us having a rotten start. Moral of the story: XRAYs can still hang even though we are really having to up our game in spec classes.

Having said that I am enjoying the incredible competition from the Awesomatix crew. Those guys know how to build and race their cars.

ETA: Also, Larry destroying you on the track really motivates you to step up your game.

So any idea why the ball studs were changed? I recall from the T3'12 to the T4'13 the bulk heads were lowered approx 1mm. So now with these studs, that is now negated.

Snowy.

I thought they were lowered 2mm from T3 to T4.

The inner camber link balls have a bit more thread, which is welcome for running 2mm. Thread engagement was a bit sketch with a 2mm spacer on the T4'13 balls.

As for raising the height, the only thing I can think of is that maybe they wanted to get rid of bind at the more extreme angles.
