Digesting all of the information and looking at the pics, I really think this will be a nice handling car for 21.5 or 17.5 blinky. The revised caster will give it more stability on the cornering and the Transversal Motor can also help calm the rear down.

The Steering also looks really nice as well. Its been a while since I bought a shaft car although I am pretty tempted now (Fingers crossed for an EVO6)

Key features are:
  • low profile shocks
  • gear diffs
  • Vertical motor fitting to reduce torque steer
  • 6 degree Caster Hubs

Fingers Crossed for a TB Evolution 6

i dont know but the motor mount may limit the use of big pinions that we now use in stock classes?

Mods, can we please consolidate the two TB-04 threads?

This must be a lot easier to drive than any longitudinal motor position shaft car. I think only really skilled drivers can drive a normal shaft drive car consistently. Hope they make a full TRF version sometime.

You need to try an Awesomatix then, they are ridiculously easy to drive. You won't believe the steering and planted feeling they have.
Since Oleg is in this thread I am sure he will comment

I have to admit the Awesomatix has really impressed people, maybe Tamiya have also been impressed.

Looking at the drive train and comparing it with my TA01 (the original TC that started it all) its interesting to see how they have optimised it with less gears hence making it more efficient.

I think tamiya is experimenting new layouts with their mid-level chassis like the ta06 and now the tb04. I do think the ta06 could of been a bit better (I got a rsector carbon chassis to fix the downfalls of the 06)

Definitely like this new car. Should be interesting to see what it can do. Might be a fun kit to have for 17.5 or maybe 13.5 if there is an evo version of it.

Its been a very long time since I last raced (I had a TB01) so I think this will be the car I get to start racing again.

They are easier to drive into corners at least on carpet because they have lower CG and better suspension but out of corners they are not. Some people can accept that but I dont like the feeling of that type of cars. My cars need to be logical and behave like I drive them and not have a mind of their own

look at the pic above, looks like you'll be limited to certain spur gear sizes. hopefully this car can get down into proper FDR range to run 17.5, 21.5 etc.

Seriously? Not impressed at all... Seriously why jeopardizing the mass centering of a shaft architecture in the name of the torque steer urban legend...

This chassis is obviously not designed for MOD classes... So don't tell me you can feel the torque steer effect with a 13.5 or a 17.5! Come on!

That should be fine since you always go to a smaller spur in those classes. I just hope there is enough forward/aft movement for the motor to get those giant pinions we use for spec classes.
