Installed R1wurks. Noticed it was touching chassis. Could not even slide thin paper in between motor and chassis. Had to Dremel our about 2 mill. These R1wurks motors are bigger around than any other 540 motors I have.

I just built a d413 and d216 i picked up for a bargain. Really cool cars, fit and finish are top shelf. Hope they continue with the line and come out with some updates for 2018.

Ya it’s 13.5 v16. The chassis for these are dirt cheap now. So not a biggie milling it. Peeps may find this motor does not fit many vehicles well. Timing set a 43. 30/72. Gonna race it tonight. The magnet strength is super strong. It takes a bunch off juice from esc to even get it started.(R1wurks must be riding the max diameter allowed or all my other motors were just small) guess we know another reason why there sooooo fast. The fastest motors I have seen(fantom/$175 Trinity and R1wurks) I would have also tried motiv. Kinda think any other motors are slow and obsolete and worth about 20 bucks. You can here in this vid the thump!! https://youtu.be/Dbbt9SohLm0

Sucks. Don't think I wanna grind up my chassis. Ive got a smc on there now, has a tiny amount of room.

Haha. Motiv or muchmore would be my next choice. Might even just grab a 13.5 stator for my smc and see how it goes. If anything changes, I'll let you know

I would get the Motiv out of those two. It seems they are screamers for the price But the Team Edition will be waiting if you change your mind

New car looked great at the Ifmar champs. Exciting to see that they did not stray from the design that makes this one of the toughest 4w on the track. Looks like driveshafts and some creative moving of electronics you can crate this d418 with a Exotek chassis. Who's going to be the first. LOL.

Motiv when geared correctly runs just as fast or faster than R1 V16 and runs way cooler. I did back to back testing just incase fan boys want to bash like normal....LOL Don't get me wrong.....the R1 is a rocket.

I had my sway bars come off a few times. I used my Dremel to make a groove for the set screw to ride in. Maybe I just crash hard.

Yeah i keep seeing the Motiv motors performing extremely well and makes me sometimes want to dump one of my maclan team editions to try it lol. Which may happen sooner than later if I end up having issues with my current combo. Been seeing folks have weird hiccups with the new Pico ESC and 13.5 motors.

Hey guys. Today it was pretty cold at our track, and I broke a rear hub (lower hinge pin hole). Not blaming the cold, as I butchered a large double and landed right on the edge of my rear wheel, but I assume the temps didn't help. I'm thinking about getting a set of Exotek hubs but understand I need new ball studs / cups for them. Exotek specifies the 6mm studs, and the "assortment" of cups for the part number. Does anyone have these hubs, and if so, what did you use? Any chance I can use an AE or TLR cup/stud?

I had but 10k fluid back up front (as opposed to the 7k), to try and improve my on power steering. For the two laps I got in, I think it helped!

That's good to hear, but does the motiv fit without grinding the chassis? Seems the R1 may need it.
