As the title says im wondering about if Nitro does corrode brass/bronze/copper?

Stainless steel does ok?

I am asking because we might make a giant carburetor for a mixed fuel 50cc engine.

Brass degrades nitro.... Don't use brass with nitro...

Yes, with aluminium rods I have seens corrosion spots. It is not that strange because nitro is oxigen and oxigen is needed to start corrosion. With the acid produced by burned nitro it can eat into the surface of metals. That is why a good fuel with castor oil or an afterrun treatment is needed to protect the engine.

Well. This is for a needle valve after a carburetor and there is no acids at that stage. Just the oxygen in the fuel.

I am not making a carburetor anymore we are adding a needle valve after the carburetor.

yes only oxygen is there and nobody prefer to play with carburetor.
