Impossible question to answer. You must use each of the units to really understand what feels best in your hand. Unfortunately doing this for a few minutes in the store doesn't really work. If some of you friends have these radios see if you can try them out.

I own an M8, Helios and 3PK. I personally prefer the feel of the 3PK.

To be honest You negate that with the drop down wheel I belive it weights 15grams so in actuality the 3PK is lighter....But if you can feel the difference of 2 grams than your my hero.

The Helios fits MY hand best
The Helios as all the features I need
The Helios is made by a company I trust...
Are you getting my point.
What I like shouldn't effect what you like.
go to the track and ask a couple of racers two questions.
1) May I please check out your radio, because I am considering buying this model?
2) What if anything Don't you like about this radio.

Here is my answers
1) Yes check it out.
2) It is a pain to put into my travel case with the drop down wheel...feels like it could get damaged alot easier, There neck strap can come undone if you aren't paying attention. Oh and I wish it had backlighting, when I'm at SoCal.
So there is the truth....Besides if everyone is as honest as I am they will tell you even what could be improved. the Helios could use backlighting, but only indoor not well lit tracks.
Hope thsi helps

yeah your right about the drop down wheel making it a little heavier but another nice thing about the dropdown is that it is also adjustable to the preference of the driver which really helps the driver become more comfortable, whereas the 3pk is fixed in one position if im not mistaken. Also the helios has a backlight

Hope KO's service has gotten better. I still have an old EX-1(or parts of it) after I through it repetitively at a brick wall because KO tried to fix it 3 times, all to no avail, and it ended up ruining a then new Mugen MBX-4..

Since then I really shy away from KO, mainly because they don't really seem to have the presence here in the States, and I could care less what they use in Japan, because I'm not in Japan, and if something goes wrong in Japan, the plant is most likely 5 miles away, versus 5000....

My vote....Futaba.. If Futaba is good enough for multi-million dollar race teams(IRL and F1), shouldn't it be good enough for you?(When was the last time you saw a KO PROPO sticker on a real race car?)

I bought a new radio just two days ago. I was also considering the 3PK and the Helios. I decided to buy the Helios. For me, the next points made me go for it:

1) Small receiver
2) Many features
3) Very good experiences with Ko Propo (my EX-1 Precious still works after 10 years)
4) Stories from multiple forums, just like this thread

I think the Helios looks crappy, but that's my opinion. They tried to make it as futuristic as possible, but I prefer the more conventinal look of the 3PK. I made up my mind and thought: who is supposed to look to his radio while driving?

Untill now I feel very happy with my new radio, so I would also recommend the Helios!

Gr,
Mike

I was exactly in the same situation as you were DIMO. I really think you made the good choice.

Succes with the Helios!
