Are these cells much larger than GP3300's? I am looking at getting a few packs to run in my Pro4.

Other than runtime, are you guys that are now running the 3800s seeing much of a difference compared to the 3700s? Or compared to the 3300s?

I can't vouch for 3700's, but the 3800's compared to 3300's...
The 3800's do have more punch. They also weigh a little more, but most of the time your car is light anyways so at least its usable weight. On avg. I say it was maybe a tenth of a lap faster with 3800's, but a tenth a lap can be the difference between 1st and last place in the A at a big race...

I heard that the IB3800 were not very consistant and pretty fragile, their voltage and\or runtimes can decrease badly after a few runs, not sure if this is the case with the last batch...?
Perhaps the GP3700 are more durable, voltages and runtimes is more constant over the runs but IR is a litttle higher than IBs
I think although you pay more for the GPs you get longer life span with them but can someone tell wich of both have the longest runtimes? I mean for an average of the shelf pack?

Not sure where you have gotten your info but our drivers are reporting that the 3800s are holding up real well. I have 30 cycles or so on a few single cells and the capacity and voltage has been real stable.
The IB3800 is about 25-35 seconds higher in runtime than the GP3700.

I have 6 ib3600 that were from the first set of cells that smc release for sale. So that is almost 6 months at this point. run pretty much once a week. and the cells are still punchy as hell. i have started to tray the cells to zero the night before and then equalize before I charge. They are still taking 4200-4300mah. this past weekend I was able to put 6 second on the entire field in the first 2 laps and extended my lead to almost 8 second in 10 laps. this was in a 1/12 with other drivers running gp3700.
now these are 3600, but I am sure teh 3800 have similar characteristics.
I just picked up a couple of gp3700 and ran them for the first time this past weekend in 2 quals with the same motor and a fresh cut. The gp did not fall off in the 8min, but they seam to be flat. the lap times were about .1 to .2 slower then my ib. I am hoping that they will come to life after a few race weekends. so I will report back in a couple.

Well, I didnt want to put down the IBs but just pointing out some info I got from different Drivers that did some testing around here but they probably didnt use the IBs as they should have or got some cells from a 'bad' batch
BUT, if the IBs are so much better why are all the Pros (well almost) running the GPs? Even sponsored drivers that can choose both from their Matchers are using the GPs, at leat for MOD racing..?
Anyway, I think that when a new cell comes out it often takes a couple of batches for them to become better so time will tell us who make the best new gen cell

The reason all the pros are not running 3800's is because the recent "Big Races" Reedy Race etc. don't allow them, but that's a whole other topic.
I think Scotty's Vegas IntChamps Race in Sep. will be the first "Big Race" that allows the new cells. I think you will see quite a few guys running them in mod, 19, and stock.
