No one around my area carries any of the Tamiya hopups, but for tires, Pit Shimizu are excellent. Good grip and really good wear. They are available in medium and hard compounds and fit the kit rims.

rto997: the tires are about the only thing that really needs improvement. I haven't put any hop-ups on mine, and it really handles sweet.

Dunno. Last I heard, they wanted to. I haven't had the chance to keep up with all that's going on. Keep your fingers crossed!

Alternatively, try Rainbowten in Japan. There website address is:

www.rainbowten.co.jp

They are receiving Ride tires for the F201 in Oct 02 so you may want to try them as an alternative to the Pit and Tamiya tires.

Hey guys help needed please. I just won the Australian TCS for F1/Lemans. We were allowed to run the ever fast F103, but now we to run the F201 at the worlds. Does anyone have a starting set up for carpet for these things yet.
God I don’t even know if we have any hot-ups for these things yet in OZ as I can count on one hand the amount of people that run the new F1. People here are still very much in love with the F103. Anyway if you can lend a hand that would be great.

Hi Guys,

We now also carry the pit shimizu F201 tires in both medium and firm compound for front and rear. And we also carry Tamiya spare and hop-ups for the F201, as well as Cross Hop-ups for the F201. We just recently updated our website with more F201 spares.

Thats cool. I'll have to get me some new tires before next year. My kit tires are pretty much useless at this point.

Darkseid--> don't wait, get them now...the Pit tires will make it a totally new car. Much improvement over the kit tires.

Wilfred,

You may be waiting awhile. I suggest you make your own Williams using one of the AMS sticker sets available from Rainbow Ten in Japan. The best body for the job is the new A Type body released by Tamiya. I've almost finished mine - just the helmet to go and I will then post some pics. (I'm doing a R. Schumacher car).

Default Pit vs Ride

So which tyre offers better grip - Pit or Ride. If so, which compound?
