help finding tires
I dont know how many of you run sorex tires, but there seems to be a shortage of the 36r compound right now. does anyone know which tires could be substituted for the sorex 36r and give a comparable level of performance? i've heard good things about RP & TAKE OFF tires but i dont know what compounds to use or where to get them. please help.
thanks

do you guys know the temp ranges for the rp 30's and 36's? i race asphalt at speedworld in roseville, ca. most of the time and run sorex 28's in the morning (cool weather) and in the afternoon(when it gets hot) for the third heat and main i run the 36's most of the time. i would kinda like to see some type of temp/compound chart if there's one available.

Tires
I'll add my 2 cents. I just purchased a set of the RP 36's pre-mounted. I was using only the Sorex 36 version, and decided to try the RP's after a friend let me use a set of his to try for a heat race. After buying the pre-mounted set, I put them on my car and noticed that they are not true at all...... complete junk! Mount your own if you dont want to get angry. I cant believe they sell that crap for $43 bucks!

You can get all the RP tires through Schumacher USA, go to www.racing-cars.com and click on the USA link. RP tires is listed as a manufacture under the pop up menu.
I've never had a problem with any premounted RP tires being untrue or breaking, although I know some people have broken the old rims. They've changed the rims now and they should hold up to people slamming them into walls, but anything can break if you hit the wall enough . If these tires were junk they would not be chosen as the spec tire for the Reedy Race of Champions.

RP Tires
As mentioned in my post, the RP tires I purchased were new (as in never run). I still have yet to run them, and I know for a fact that I will not buy pre-mounted tires from them in the future. I dont care if these were chosen for the Reedy race, I will not be a sucker. "Screw me once shame on you, screw me twice.... shame on me".
I am not complaining about the quality of the rubber, just letting others know of my experience. I have no loyalty to any tire manufacturer. All I ask it that I get what I pay for, and for my $43, the quality fell well blow my expectations.
