Center shaft flex on TC
Has anyone had problems with the center shaft being too much out of balance? I usually run 2s and never did a mid air pull but did so after noticing the issue with a 3s, and it flexes at full throttle on 2s as well. The shaft bends around half a mm each way off center on 3s half throttle holding the car mid air (wasn't brave/dumb enough to try full throttle) and the car hasn't been abused, just normal racing on 2s and hasn't seen any rolls or wrecks just the normal bumping, trading paint, etc. I'm wondering if the flex subsides when the drivetrain is under load or if I should be worried about it blowing up or flying out if I try to run a 3s for kicks.
The car in question is an Ofna JL10e. I've already posted in the dedicated thread but I figure anyone with a shaft driven TC could help.

Pack the cups with o-rings, might help with some of the movement.

Use ball bearings support for the middle of the shaft.

Most shaft cars do this (I've had a HPI Pro4 and Tamiya Evo V). When the shaft hits its resonant frequency it moves by a lot more than 1mm!
The awesomatix solution is the only real fix. Either that or a thick steel propshaft...

Hey now this is an idea, thanks! I may just use some alloy servo mounts I have laying around along with some spare bearings on either side of the shaft. Going to have to drill holes on the chassis either way. As long as they use more than one hole to mount on the chassis it will keep them from swinging away from the shaft.
This was pretty much the answer I was looking for, thanks! I've only ever had belt driven tc's so this is a new discovery for me. Never had a problem with my shaft curvin...err...that don't sound quite right nvm
