Two problems:
1. you need a different kingpin that takes an e clip on the bottom

2. The spring holds the upper ball in place

This is a much simpler solution and what I personally use (well the Exotek one anyways, but same thing). No need to deal with spacers and ride height is easily changed.

ROBK is correct. I tried for an hour to setup the springs on the bottom like the v2 F104. It's impossible because the top hinge pin holders need the springs to stay in place. tunning haus spacer, Does this spacer allow the front to drop low enough to use foam tires?

Just a reminder. when you add those spacers under the entire front end you are effectively changing roll center at the same time by raising the lower arms, so the handling difference is bigger than just a lower ride height/CG.

On a side note. I raced in Horsham, PA this past weekend for their TCS race. I consistently had problems with the front lower pillow balls popping out after rolling on corner discs.
I found a decent solution to keeping the lower balls from popping so easily.
With the car turned upside down, I weeped thin CA into the gap between the lower ball and the plastic lower arm. The position is pretty much stationary when assembled anyway. This created a little extra ledge to hold the ball in place. I applied 3 layers of CA and it was solid.
I was thinking that I may even try switching to the plastic lower pillow and using the CA to make this fix more permanent... well until I buy the new double carbon front arm setup

It's better to replace the lower arm part, cause when they are starting to pop out of the lower arm then it means that it's worn out a little.
I even use some oil to have a smooth movement of the lower pillow ball.

Look closely.
Just got my carbon front suspension set through and bolted it staright onto my TRF101W to narrow the front end, it says on the box that its for both the 101 & 101W cars and utilises all the revisions the 101w comes with as standard except its 190mm wide.

All you need out of the set to convert a TRF101W to 190mm is the upper and lower wishbones and the blue aluminium king pin mounts, everything else is the same as kit. Unfortunately the instructions don't give any part # so it looks like they don't sell the parts individually atm.

Before the event I replaced the plastic arms and the Tamiya F104 Low Friction Sus Ball - Set. After the the 1st qualifier I replaced the lower plastic arm again. I'm not bashing into things just putting one or two tires on steel corner discs.

Oil on the kingpin yes, on the outside of the pillow ball, friction fit into plastic? Look closely while moving the front steering arms. there is no movement of the bottom suspension ball. maybe minimal if you use orings on the top arm. mine are screwed tight.

^^^
Thank you for the pic of the new front arms. I like the aluminum ball fitting on the lower arm now.

I'm Always running the front carbon upper arm with O-rings.
I even use the oil on the lower pilow ball on my F104 Ver.II, for me everything needs to me smooth or move freely.

How is the lower ball held in on the new front end conversion? Is the upper ball still supported by the spring only or is it captive now?

What are the benefits of installing this new front arm? Are you able to run 103 front Foam tires, does it allow ride height to be easily set?
