The open carpark where I run my cars actually bounces upon acceleration... like some speedboat on water... However, when it comes to cornering, it's frustrating; too much understeering... hahhaha

Anyway, I've just got myself a new F104X1 to be converted to a Transformula. Tried the Trans myself and it was a winner; much better than a F103, and outran any tourers here.. Just finished building, painting it, so gotta try it out this weekend.. Should be running on foams, but will bring my rubber tires along too.

Default F1 Machined Ultra Spur Gear- POM,*

Has anyone tried this in the TRF101? I couldn't get a smooth diff action so I went back to the original spur. If anyone got it to work I would like to know how.

I use the Exotek spur all the time, no problems at all. You should use 3mm diff balls. Get 16 and your diff is smooth...

I bought a my TRF101 a few months ago and I want to start using it as a race car, the track surface is asphalt in a parking lot. The initial rules are 21.5 motor (blinkymode).
What GearRatio recommend me to start? And any other tips would be welcome!

Thanks

Attached is my Jackson RC TCS wining Set-up using a TRF101. Used Ferrari F60 body and wing kit

Front:
- Stock Rubber Front tires, (not the TCS labeled brand)
- gold springs
- 5000 damper lube on kingpins
- offset trailing axle
- 5mm ride height
- middle hole on steering knuckle

Rear:
- TCS labeled tires
- yellow center spring
- 450 shock oil
- 10000 damper fluid on side damper
- gold side springs
- 4mm ride height

General:
- 35/96 gearing
- Reedy R1 21.5
- short battery in front
- Just Stock Speedo in rear

I hope this helps.

For a long strait like this you can go for a ratio around 2.4 or 2.5

How do you adjust ride height on the front of the 101? I added a spacer under the king pin/axle but it seems to kill front droop and travel.

When you add an extra spacer under the steering block you'll have to remove the same height of the spacer you add bellow above the steering block.
Make sure you loosen the grub screw of the steering block to being able to puch the steering block after you've done the change of the spacers back up and then thighten up the grub screw back.
This is how you should adjust the ride height.

Hope this helps

So, do I remove the eclip on the kingpin then? As of right now there is an eclip on the top under the sping that makes it so I can't change the position of the steering block.

What i Always do is:

Remove the C or E-clip (it's better to use a C-clip) on the underside of the front suspension and the spring.
Loosen up the 2 screws that goes into the steering block.
Now you can move the steering block up and down and the king pin can be freely moved up and down.
Now you are able to remove some spacers on top of the steering block and the amount (height) of the spacers you remove from above the steering block must me added below the steering block.
Once you have done this push the steering block back upwards and thighten those 2 screws that go in the steering block.
Now you can mount the king pin back in the lower suspension ball and add the spring and C or E-clip back under the spring and voila you have changed the ride height of the front suspension

Okay. What if there is no spacer under spring? Does this mean I am as low as I can go?

There shouldn't be a spacer under the spring, unless you want some extra preload on your springs but that isn't needed.
