Are there any good spur gear upgrades available? Maybe a white Delrin gear or at least a good quality replacement?
#558
I'm using a Kimbrough spur gear. You'll need 1/8th diff balls though. The 3mm ones are too small.

My TRF101 build is going great.
This is my first F1.
Need some assistance with the build and had a couple of questions for the F1 gurus.
I'm currently trying to decide between the Savox 1251 and 1252 servo.
Which one will work better? 1252 a bit faster and 1251 a bit torquier
Also for the Rear damper, which combination will work better for asphalt (piston, oil, spring).
For Springs, which to use for front and rear.
Will mainly be practicing at WCRC, Marvin's parking lot track at Northridge, and maybe the Tamiya track once in a while.
Can anyone share their Asphalt setup for these tracks?
Thanks for your help

I would say go with the faster servo instead of the stronger since this is a lightweight 2wd car. As for the setup I just had my first weekend with mine at Freedom Park Camarillo and I went with silver springs front and rear, soft roll damper grease, 3 hole piston with stock oil and Ride R1 tires. The car had lots of understeer but it was stable and easy to drive. Next time out I will work on dialing back the understeer with stiffer rear springs, medium roll grease and thicker shock oil.
I forgot to add Camarillo to my list of tracks.
I heard a few HotRod locals have been going out to Camarillo lately.
I currently have Shimitzu 571 and 572.
Do you know if those tires work at Camarillo?

Anybody here get 2.0 degrees or more of negative camber yet ? I flipped the mounts and the most I can get is 1.5 ....

I believe those are the tires that Charles Lightfoot is recommending at Camarillo but I have not tried them yet. I have some 572/573 I will be trying next time which I hear are also a good choice.

I flipped them and got exactly 2.0. I had to flip it back though because it started traction rolling like crazy. Then again I seem to always be the one with traction roll issues at the track for some reason, but the increased camber made it a lot worse.
