No. .6 is .6miliohms. 6.0 would be 6 ohms.

My good 2S packs read .9-1.5 per cell. And the newest pack I have is from April.

There's s large discrepancy between different chargers then if a brand new SMC pack reads about 2.5 ohms on a PL and an older pack of any kind reads 1.8 to 3.0 ohms for the pack (big range isn't it?). You mean 6 milliohms? .6 milliohms would be 0.06 ohms right?
So a reading of .6 per cell for a 2s would be 1.2ohms? I don't know if you can spend enough money to get a pack with true IR that low.
Teperature when taking the reading has a big influence as well.

I guess just go by what your charger reads and monitor the packs heath based on those reading right or wrong.

I have been charging others, and they are in the 1.0 - 1.9 range depending on age. All that I have charged are Revtech.. Some are 2 years old and some are newer... They all started above 3, some in the 5 range... but now are down...

Damn, can't get over some of the crazy charge rates I'm reading here.

My Orion 6500's came with a note, do not charge over 5 amps so that's what I'm gonna do, charge at 5 amps...

I'm not lacking speed at all... My charger wants to charge at 1C but I turn it down to 5 amps. If I'm in a rush and I'm feeling all cwaaazzzyy I'll charge at 6.5 lol...

Their covering their butts in case of a lipo fire.

Lipo technology from 8 or so years ago could only handle 1c charge rates. Now just about every lipo can handle 2c or higher safely and the better packs can take 3c or more... but they are also covering their butts and saying 2c max.

There has been discussion that charging at less than 1c is not good for the pack. Not sure about that, who knows.

You are more than safe charging at 2c and you should go by what the pack says... not the charger. They obviously are not aware of every pack that may be charged by their charger, their attorneys said to put a note in there saying not to charge over 5a. What if you were charging a 10,000 pack for a plane? Still 5a max?

OK thanks for that. I did wonder if it was a capacity thing or an indemnity issue. If the technology changed 8 years ago then I'll say I'm safe to charge at higher rates, the earliest the 6500 Carbon Pro's could have been manufactured is 2009, so even if my brand new packs have been on the shelf for 4 years I'm still safe.

My Orion Advantage Touch Pro Charger can charge at 12A, f*ck it I'm gonna start charging at 12A...

If your pack doesn't list the C rate that it can be charged at on the sticker, go to the manufacturers web site and look it up. It will be there. Write it on the pack with a sharpie so you know.

In the Description it says "Up to 5C"

Here is my point, are they covering their @sses for indemnity reasons or can I ignore this. They started manufacturing these in 2009, so perhaps the technology is a bit legacy...

Interestingly, on their new 8000mah packs they don't have a max charge rate, so I'm guessing it's a free for all.

Assuming the 8000 packs are 5c, that's a 40a charge rate and not many chargers get that high.
The ones that do certainly know what a pack can take and won't give more than that. Probably why they don't even bother to list a max charge rate.

Most of the chargers over the last decade will not charge higher than the pack wants to take also so you can just about set it to max and let it go.

You may set it to 12a on an old cheap pack and a good charger may charge at 6.85a because it can sense that's all the pack wants to take.

Just one important thing to remember regardless of charge rate is make sure you use the balance option on the charger! Ive yet to see any lipo go up or have problems on a balance charger when the balancer was being used. Most "good" chargers have safety features built in that will terminate the charge if there is an issue.

Yep.
Easy math. A 1000 mah pack is 1a.
C is a multiplier.
So a 1000 mah pack is 1a and a 5C charge rate on that pack would be 5a.
1x5=5

A 6500 pack @ 5C would be a 32.5a charge.

For sure, I've never charged without balancing. Many reasons to balance but I don't want to writs a novel (and neither did you understandably).

Only one reason not to balance charge, speed but its not that much faster and not worth it.
