You would think so, but the recent LiPo incident I witnessed would suggest otherwise, said incident LiPo simply blew the bag apart and burned away quite nicely, which was odd and not so reassuring in something a lot of people place a great deal of faith in.

Maybe use a deep metal cake pan and set the lipo bag in it.

I ran my new TP1430 today using my pyramid 25 amp power supply today under controlled conditions, and the power supply held up quite well. Can't wait to see what happens at the track tomorrow. Now, I just need a seperate trailor to hall the power supply around with.

It's not rocket science.. 20 amp charge is good.
That's the point you see benefits like lower IR on the first charge.

If my charger can charge 20amps I will! I hate waiting. I have been charging my batteries @ 10 AMPS for years with no issues. Everyone say it will kill the batteries but I got a few 2 year old GEN ACE packs and still running strong and I start using is on my 2WD buggy, The last few races I have TQ by a full lap and lap time is about half a second faster than anyone on the track. So charging your batteries at high AMP I think it helps the batteries to be at their optimum performance. I have seen batteries went up to smoke at lower amp charge rate and I haven't seen one blow up charging at a higher amp.

Also, the charger must have a IR meter to measure the cells performance.

If some of you were around when Sanyo SCR NiCad was the big thing in racing, we charged the 1200mAH at 5amps then peaked them at 7 amps just before the race to warm them up so that they will have more punch. That would be charging at over 4C and then hitting them with 5.8C to peak them up. Still remember racers charging their SCR packs at 1.2A
If the Lipo packs are rated at 5C, then 4C can be used safely.
I don't like waiting and charging at a higher C also lowers the IR for better performance. I have a PL6/8 that can do 40A, and the Lipo packs are rated at 5C. No reason not to do it.
