To do the direct mount of the links to the servo saver, you'd have to move the servo forward to keep Ackermann consistent with the current bell crank. It should work. The slot in the upper plate would have to be lengthened to allow for the servo movement further forward.

Yep, you would probably want to try getting a spare upper plate and take a dremel to it so you could slide the servo further forward. Relatively straight-forward. My only concern was that the steering turnbuckles might run into the upper arms, since the inner mounting point would be higher than stock.

Once spares start arriving in-stock I will give it a shot.

No CA here. It can supposedly make the chassis more rigid from what I've been reading.

The carbon fiber used these days is higher quality than years past and don't have near as bad issues with de-laminating.

yeah I didn't think so, but good to know before doing anything.

How is the steering? I think I would want to go more to a direct link setup.

Oh also what servo is everyone running? the gold one in Larry's car or liljohn's what is up with that one?

I've got a Spektrum low profile servo in mine...it is essentially the same stats as the Savox a lot of people use. My FGX has the Savox in it. I like the bell crank setup...it allows me to disconnect the servo and not have the wheels flopping around independently Don't know why that bugs me but it always has.

I'm working on the body now...man I forgot how much I hate cutting out and assembling Tamiya's complex molds...LOL. They sure do come out nice in the end though.

Savox 1251 here. Silky smooth and doesn't have any issues with the Justock ESCs I have been installing.

Mounting the rear wing is proving interesting. 2 x 18 mm screws, a couple of lock nuts and 6 mm of spacers, maybe 7 mm.

I must be doing something wrong with the wing then. Too much yard work the last couple days to look at it properly. I'm hoping to run it a bit Thursday.

With the F2012 wing I only had to use two hex screws with cone washers and two nuts....no crazy shimming.
