To do the direct mount of the links to the servo saver, you'd have to move the servo forward to keep Ackermann consistent with the current bell crank. It should work. The slot in the upper plate would have to be lengthened to allow for the servo movement further forward.

Well Hi everyone, been some years for me, Got my SP-1 today from BP and it looks great!so I have opened it and starting to work on it but first I wanted to ask are we still ca-ing the Carbon fiber parts these days?
Also I have been reading the posts and just want to take this time to thank all of you for this is helping big time!!

The carbon fiber used these days is higher quality than years past and don't have near as bad issues with de-laminating.

How is the steering? I think I would want to go more to a direct link setup.
OMG! I love this car!! frontend is so smooth - Adj Camber. I like it I do I like it a lot!
Oh also what servo is everyone running? the gold one in Larry's car or liljohn's what is up with that one?

I've got a Spektrum low profile servo in mine...it is essentially the same stats as the Savox a lot of people use. My FGX has the Savox in it. I like the bell crank setup...it allows me to disconnect the servo and not have the wheels flopping around independently Don't know why that bugs me but it always has.
I'm working on the body now...man I forgot how much I hate cutting out and assembling Tamiya's complex molds...LOL. They sure do come out nice in the end though.

I only put 2mm of spacers on mine...seemed about right.
