Eeeeem.....isn't it in the rules for a couple of years, that 1/12 has to be on carpet!? Should be like that since 2009 I guess.

Actually in the rules, it states that 1/12th portion is recommended to be run on carpet. Per regulation 1.0.4

The track surface for 1/12th Class is recommended to be indoors on standardized needle carpet.

Thanks,

I hear there a couple more bid's other then ours. So the EXCOMM has their work cut out for them. All the racers that attended the Nats know we are capable, so we will see.

Not sure if they submitted but a repaved TamiyaUSA track would be an awesome show.

It is getting a facelift as of today we were told.

They have been equally capable of hosting International-level events - hosting the Reedy Race of Champions for several years.

And folks do race 1/12 scale there on asphalt.

Sure the race will go to a good home.

Tamiya USA Track has parking issues since the main HQ building was sold years ago

Therefore, I don't believe it will be a viable location in the foreseeable future

I thought 1/12 ran well there at Village Raceway in West Palm for the Nationals.

Wouldn't you expect parking to be less of an issue at an International Event than at a National one? I would expect more people in team buses and fewer in cars. Is it that there are expected to be more spectators that creates the problem?
